Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2020
- No School – Professional Development Day: The NSBORO public schools are using election day as a Professional Development Day
- Voting in State Election (6:30 am – 8:00 pm) @ Trottier Middle School gym, 49 Parkerville Road: For details, see dedicated post.
- Library’s Preschool Virtual Story Time (10:30 am – 11:00 am) @ Facebook: Children’s Librarian “Miss Kim” will hold a story time for ages 2-5 (siblings welcome). Each week will feature themed stories on Facebook Live with Ms. Kim! No registration necessary (Note: you don’t have to have a Facebook account to watch the Library’s videos, which are still viewable after the live event is over.)
- NSMA Mooyah fundraiser (12:00 – 8:00 pm) @ MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes, 10010A Shops Way, Northborough: Reference the fundraiser for Northborough Southborough Music Association and MOOYAH will donate a portion of net sales to the organization. For details, see dedicated post.

- All About Goats (10:00 – 11:00 am) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: Pre-registration required. Get up close and personal with the goats of Chestnut Hill Farm! First we’ll read a story that features goats. Then we’ll interact with some goats as we learn all about them: fun goat facts, what goats eat, how to care for them, and more. - Preschool on the Farm – Explorer Fridays (10:00 – 11:00 am) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: The first day in this month’s series. Preschoolers can experience life on the farm through farm “chores,” such as brushing goats, planting seeds, and other age-appropriate hands-on activities, stories, and adventures. For children age 2 years 9 months to age 4. Younger siblings are welcome with an additional fee. (Siblings under age 1 can attend at no additional cost.) Adult supervision is required. - Creative Writing Club-for Teens & Tweens (3:00 – 4:00 pm) @ zoom: Tweens and teens interested in meeting other writers and looking for ways to foster their own writing are welcome to the Southborough Library’s virtual writing club! The Library’s Marianna Sorensen will lead the zoom sessions with enthusiastic writers ages 10 and up. Meetings will take place the first 3 Fridays in November and December. - Southborough Art & Gift Sale (10:00 am – 4:00 pm) @ 49 Lynbrook Road – outdoors: Local artisans will again band together to hold an Art and Gift Sale in Southborough. Attendance is open to the public and free. Nearly 20 local artisans will be selling goods including jewelry, fine art, chocolates, natural body care, textiles, and ceramics. - Read to a Dog (11:00 – 11:40 am) @ zoom: Children preferably ages 5 and up with some reading ability will read to Bear, a certified therapy dog. Each child participating will have a chance to read a short book to Bear over Zoom and can listen to the other readers. Sign up soon. The event is limited and requires pre-registration through Southborough Recreation: Limit 3 children per session. - The Great Pumpkin Chuck & Family Hike (12:30 – 3:30 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: During this event you’ll go on easy, guided family hike around the farm trails. Before or after , gather at the farm’s trebuchet (catapult), to watch the farm’s staff launch your old pumpkins! We’ll also have the campfire going, plus pumpkin bowling and a fun craft for children — and there will be hot cocoa, hot cider, s’mores kits, and popcorn for sale! Registration is capped and the event is split into 90 minute sessions for Covid safety. The first session appears to be sold out but 12:30-2 PM and 2-3:30 PM were still open on Monday morning. - Drive-in Movie for Best Buddies (6:30 pm) @ Algonquin Regional High School: Fundraiser hosted by ARHS Best Buddies. (Rescheduled from 10/17) Arrival 6-6:30PM for 6:30 screening of “A Night at the Museum” Open to all residents in the ARHS athletic Pod districts (Algonquin, Leominster, Shrewsbury, Westboro, Wachusett) Suggested donation per vehicle: $25 Pre-registration requested For details, see dedicated post.
