Last night, the Southborough Police Department posted news of a water main break on Boston Road. While the water company has been working on the situation, earlier today a second break was reported.
The area of road closures have changed since last night. But as of 3:45 pm, the SPD confirmed it is still the same status as posted in an update 10:00 am this morning:
Boston Rd is closed between Valley Rd and Central St.
White Bagley Rd is closed between Boston Rd and Latisquama Rd (after a second water main break).
Please seek an alternate route for both areas. The Water Company is on scene and working on repairing the damage. Thank you.
At a reader’s request, I created a map marking up the describe areas (click on image right).
Last night’s report didn’t include the White Bagley Road closure but did include an additional section of Boston Road – the causeway from Framingham Road to Central Street.
At that time, the SPD warned:
the water in the roadway is causing a traffic hazard. *PLEASE SEEK AN ALTERNATE ROUTE*. The Water Department is on scene and working on the issue. The pictures below were taken at the intersection of Boston Road and Central Street. Thank you.
Updated (1/8/20 4:53 pm): I inserted a map marking up the closed areas above right. As of now, no status change on SPD Facebook page – but you can check for updates here.
Would you please include a map graphic illustrating where the breaks are – so we can avoid the areas and plan our routes before setting out?
Thanks!
Easier said than done – since there are two sections of road closures. I’ll see if I can come up with something quickly.
OK – did my best. I inserted a marked up map.
