Tonight, Mass Department of Public Health lowered Southborough’s community transmission level to “yellow” and just missed moving back into green.
The change follows 11 straight weeks in the red. (The Town was shifted into the high risk category the week following Thanksgiving, just one week after being elevated from green to yellow.)
This week’s report was based on results from tests taken between January 31st and February 13th. During that period, 16 cases were confirmed. That’s one too many to be designated green. The threshold for red (in a small town like ours) is 26+ cases in two weeks.
The report showed the Town’s Average Daily Incidence Rate per 100,000 is now down to 11.8 and the % of tests confirmed positive was 0.68%.
The state also downshifted Marlborough to yellow this week. All of our other direct neighbors (Framingham, Ashland, Northborough, Hopkinton, and Westborough) had already moved to yellow over past weeks.
