Library news: Online reservations for curbside pickup, activity packets for adults, and more

Above: If you log into the Library’s online catalog, you can not only reserve books and materials, you can use the system to reserve a timeslot for curbside pickup.

This month, the Southborough Library added some new features to its services worth noting.

Curbside reservations

As readers should be aware, the building is still closed but the Library has been offering curbside pickup. That had been coordinated through phone calls and emails. Now, patrons also have the ability to schedule pickups themselves online.

(First, books need to be reserved as holds. That’s already something many patrons handle directly through the online catalog.)

To use the online scheduling tool, you’ll need to access your library account online. Click on thumbnails below for the Library’s instructions.

Activity packets

While you’re picking up your books, you can also pick up some activity sheets for fun. The Library had already been making activity packets available for kids in the pickup area. (This month’s theme was Valentine’s Day.) Now they’ve added packets to entertain adults.

Food Pantry Collection

As I previously wrote, you can also make use of the curbside pickup area this month to support the Southborough Food Pantry. It’s the Library’s annual collection drive for “Love Your Library” month.

Reader’s Advisory

As for what you should be reading, the Library issued updated it’s winter recommendations by staff – the Reader’s Advisories for Adults and Teens. Many of the offerings are also available to borrow as ebooks through Overdrive or Hooplah.
