Southborough Recreation put a short pause on its Recreation After School Program classes this winter. The purpose was to shift gears for offering a slew of in-person, outdoor programs this spring.
Programs will begin in early May and run for 4-5 weeks. Students at Finn, Woodward, and Neary students all have 7-11 program options to choose from including sports and craft activities. In addition, Trottier students are offered two athletic programs.
With the coming return of full in-person learning, the programs will no longer be split by Cohorts.
All but one of the 30 programs will be held outdoors at the schools.* As a result, Southborough Rec noted on Facebook:
If the weather is bad we will cancel and add on a class at the end of the session or make the last class an extra hour long
Recreation Director Tim Davis told the Rec Commission that the decision to focus on offering more outdoor programming was based on survey responses from parents. It has already proven to be popular. Davis warned that some programs were close to full last week. So, don’t wait too long to sign up.
