Southborough is hometown to another budding musical talent.
Singer/songwriter Padma Mynampaty will release her EP “East Coast Angel” this Friday, April 16th. She’s looking for support from Spotify users in our community to give her a boost that day:
If you have a Spotify account, can you Pre-Save my EP? (When you Pre-Save, you’ll automatically get the EP when it is released and the more Pre-Saves I get, the stronger my pitch will be for “Editor’s Pick” on Spotify.)
Professionally, the St. Mark’s School junior goes by just her first name, Padma. Her indie pop EP will consist of two singles already released in January and February, plus two originals.
You can sample the tune “Wednesday” below. The full version is available on all major platforms where you can also listen to “Mr. Blue Eyes”.
Padma sang all the vocals and played guitar on the songs. The 17 year old tells me she has been playing guitar since she was about five years old and seriously writing for about 2 years. The teen has performed at open mics for what she describes as most of her life. Right before the pandemic, she began opening for other musicians.
The Southborough teen wrote her songs for the EP in her bedroom during the summer of 2019. She originally planned their release for 2020. The pandemic put a crimp in that plan.
She now hopes to release one song per month on all music platforms and to shoot a music video to come out sometime this spring.

What a great story Beth! Padma and my son were school friends during the elementary years and they often would write songs and play musical instruments when they got together after school. Padma’s Indie pop style is distinct and enjoyable. Padma, congratulations on pursuing your passion! May your soar to great heights in everything that you pursue! We will definitely support your musical career!
Great story on an awesome young person! So proud of you Padma!!!
