Last summer, a group of Southborough teens launched a soccer camp for local youth. This year, it’s back.

Southborough Soccer Development Program (SSDP) is offering its 2nd annual camp. The website pitches a program run by “4 coaches with a passion for soccer looking forward to 2 weeks of fun, laughs, and a whole lot of goals!”

SSDP flyerTheir email promotes:

The program offers rising 5th-10th graders of all skill levels the opportunity to receive personalized mentoring from former Algonquin Varsity Soccer players to hone their technical, intangible, and teamwork skills on the field. With their peers, they will participate in a week of drills, games, and scrimmages throughout the week to meet their personal goals — whether it be to improve their foot skills, prepare for the Fall season, or simply enjoy a fun week of soccer. Of course, per tradition, we will cap our last day with a visit from the ice cream truck!

Camps will again be run at Lunblad Field (on Parkerville Road). Two one week sessions are offered for July 19-23 and July 26-30 at $200 per week.

Players will be split by rising 5th-7th graders and 8th-10th graders.

Registration is limited. To sign up or learn more, click here. You can also email the SSDP team (Armaan Munsiff, Matt White, Alex Lemieux, & Nathan Rhind) at southboroughsdp@gmail.com with any questions.

Updated (6/9/21): I should have noted that for younger players (and some overlap with kids up to 14 years old) Southborough Rec is offering some soccer camps on different weeks this summer. You can check out that info here.
