On Sunday, Troop 1 held an Eagle Court of Honor recognizing scouts who achieved the rank. For many, it was an overdue celebration. Since the pandemic prevented holding court for so long, this spring the Troop honored eight scouts who reached the milestone in 2019 and 2020.
Troop 1’s Scoutmaster Jim Greene passed on details and photos for me to share.
The ceremony was held at the outdoor stage on Neary School’s field with over 100 people in attendance. Father Flynn of St. Matthew’s Church gave the Invocation. Guest speakers were Southborough’s VFW Commander Steve Whynot, Selectman Marty Healey, and State Representative Carolyn Dykema.
Each scout spoke and Jim Greene gave some brief remarks at the end. (Scroll down for more pictures.)
