On Friday, I misreported that that there are no Rugby MIAA tournaments. That is true for Girls Rugby. For the Boys, MIAA skipped the sectionals, jumping straight into state tourneys.
The undefeated ARHS Boys Rugby team is in the Division 2 bracket. The Gonk team bypassed the Quarter Finals. They’ll play Hanover, a team with a 3-1-0 record in the semis this week. The game is at home on Wednesday at 7:00 pm.*
Five other ARHS teams will be playing this afternoon/evening. But first, an update on competitions from Friday and the weekend.
Boys Lacrosse beat West Springfield 15-6 in the Central/West Division 2 First Round. (You can read the Telegram’s quick recap here.) They’ll play Longmeadow in the Quarter Finals tonight. It will be the first time the equally ranked teams face off this year.
There’s a good chance that top seed Girls Lacrosse will also face Longmeadow. The ARHS Girls earned a BYE on their Central/West Division 1 First Round. On Friday, Shrewsbury won the right to play them in tonight’s Quarter Finals. ARHS already beat the team twice this spring. Longmeadow will play tonight’s winner in the Semi-Finals, date TBD.
For the second time this spring, ARHS Girls Track and Field was named District Champs. The Girls won the MIAA Outdoor Track Central/West D1 competition over the weekend. Just last week, the Girls were named the CMass champs in the CMADA tournaments. The Telegram tweeted a video of one race that helped the team earned its latest title:

Boys Outdoor Track ranked 14th out of 26. You can see the detailed results for the Girls and Boys here.
Wrestling is out of the MIAA Central Division 2 tourney. Hopkinton beat them 18-15 in the Quarter Finals on Friday.
