Yesterday, five Algonquin teams played in MIAA district sectionals. Four will move on along to some real nail biters this Wednesday. Meanwhile, two other teams were already slated for state tourneys this week.
Here’s what’s happening in ARHS post-season sports.
Baseball beat Westborough 11-6 in the 1st Round of the Central/West Division 1 tourney. They’ll play upper seed Groton-Dunstable in the Quarter Finals.
Boys Volleyball bested Medfield 3-0 in the Quarter Finals. They’ll now play Lincoln-Sudbury in the MIAA Central semis. ARHS won their CMADA Finals and is ranked 5th seed vs. LS’ 9th seed. But, the lower seed team just took out top seed St. John’s in their Quarter Finals. LS also beat ARHS in the first game of the season.
Boys Tennis will face Westborough in the Central Division 1 Finals. The 2nd seed team beat St. John’s in the semis. Top seed Westborough were the CMADA Champs and only team to beat ARHS Boys this spring (twice).
Boys Lacrosse lost to Longmeadow 3-19 in the the Central/West Division 2 Quarter Finals yesterday.
Longmeadow’s Girls team will head to Algonquin tomorrow to take on ARHS’ top seed Girls Lacrosse in the Central/West Division 1 Semi-Finals. Yesterday ARHS beat Shrewsbury in the Quarter Finals 13-11.
As I previously updated, ARHS Boys Rugby is playing Hanover in the MIAA State Division 2 bracket semis.
