Southborough Summer Nights is this Saturday, August 28th.
Don’t come expecting the typical end-of-summer festival. For the second summer, Southborough won’t be able to offer the event’s traditional free kids activities (pony rides, inflatables, face painting, etc.).*
But you can look forward to the return of the big fireworks display for the first time since 2018. (In 2019, the festival wrapped up before sunset due to a EEE threat that summer.)
Also included in the free fun this summer is the traditional concert on the outdoor stage. This year’s act is Railroad House Band:
a six piece band featuring lush 2, 3, and 4 part vocal harmony and playing a diverse blend of Americana music, from straight ahead Bluegrass to Western Swing, and beyond!
There won’t be rows of vendor tables with giveaways this year. But, in keeping with tradition, there will be plenty of food trucks/stands. You can look for vendors to include:
- Rancho Cantina
- TheDogFather Truck
- Potato Potato
- Shabby Gourmet
- No Coast Kitchen
- Trolley Dogs
- Grub Guru
- Shishkaberrys
- Trombettas Ice Cream
- Uhlmann’s Ice Cream
- Yummy Mummy Bakery
Parking will open at 5:00 pm. According to the band’s website, they’ll be performing from 6:00 – 8:30 pm. Fireworks will be after dusk.
*Recreation explained that the activities were scaled back this summer were “due to COVID delay/concerns and budgeting”. Last year’s event was cancelled due to the pandemic.
The fireworks were fabulous!! Watched them from our chairs in the garage across from the field. Thanks for doing them!!
