Southborough Recreation fall programs are kicking off in a few days. The fall offerings include classes geared for tots through seniors. It’s also time to sign up for after school programs.
Classes for tweens/teens to adults/seniors
The programs include two geared for tweens through adults, allowing families to take them together. Some start this weekend, although one session is repeated later this fall:
Introduction to Traditional Okinawan Karate (Youth and Adult)
Ages 10 and older
7 – two hour classes for $105/pp
Improve your self-defense skills and your wellness, with the healthy, simple, and enjoyable exercise of Uechi Ryu Karate Do. Learn to move and keep yourself protected using a “soft” defense against a larger, stronger opponent. Also develop the skill to smother an attack using a “hard” up-close defense. Maintain your awareness and poise through active meditation. This introductory course is for adults and children at least ten years old. While parent(s) are welcome to watch, they are encouraged to participate in the adult class section at the same time and place.

Archery In the Park
Ages 9 and older (grade 4 +)
4 – one hour classes for $158/pp
Enjoy New England’s favorite season outdoors and sign up for ARCHERY to experience the excitement of shooting a bow and arrow! Our passionate and energetic instructors modernize this timeless Olympic sport and give it a fresh and enthusiastic twist to keep you challenged and engaged throughout the entire course. Each week, learn something new while focusing on the form more than results. All equipment provided. All skill levels welcome. Families welcome!
Saturdays (3:00 pm or 4:15 pm) 9/11/21 – 10/02/21 and/or 10/16/21 – 11/6/21 [Note: Both classes scheduled on 11/6 will be combined to the 3:00 pm slot due to Daylight Savings Time.]
Fall/Winter Yoga
Ages 12 and older
6 – one hour classes for $80/pp – zoom or in-person sessions offered
Stretch, de-stress and have some fun too! This “after-work” class, open to all levels of experience and ability, includes breadth work, posture sequences to build strength and cultivate balance and concentration. Class ends with guided relaxation. Led by seasoned Kripalu certified instructors Malu Doherty and Mary Starr Green.

Southborough Golf Club Men’s Senior League
Senior citizens
We are offering a men’s senior golf league starting Tuesday September 7th with tee times at 8:30am. This league is a 9-hole casual social league and there is no cost in joining the league. A greens fee of $18 is charged for the nine-hole league round. The league will also play on Tuesday morning during the 2022 golf season beginning in May. Spread the word and bring your friends!
