Northborough’s Applefest opened today, September 17th. The Town is promoting a slew of activities through Sunday, September 19th.
I don’t usually share news of festivals in other towns, but I make an exception for Northborough’s big annual festival. Due to our shared school district and youth sports programs, a lot of high school students and youth teams have ties to Applefest events and fundraisers.
Tonight, the Northborough Education Foundation is holding its 6th Annual Gala, “Cocktails and Dancing Under the Stars”. The fundraiser supports NEF grants for Northborough K-8 schools and Algonquin Regional High School. For details or to register, click here.
The festival website promotes the big event Saturday (5:00 – 9:00 pm) on Algonquin Regional’s athletic fields will feature a concert with Hit the Bus, a robotics show, food, and moonwalks, plus “Monkey Bridge, Glitter Tattoos, and Mermaid Hair”. Fireworks will be set off shortly after 8:00 pm. Parking is $10 per car.
Over the next two days, other highlights include a 5K, Street Fair, “Apple Pie Cafe”, Farmers Market, Bicycle Rodeo, “Art & Bloom” exhibit, Pancake Breakfast, Classic Car Show, Jazz Festival, and much more. Find all of those details here. For the schedule, click here.
