The Southborough Library is bringing back poetry seminars. Two virtual sessions for ages 18+ are scheduled for this fall. They’ll again be lead by Heather J. Macpherson:
Join Heather and the library for another round of poetry analysis and discussions.
The theme for the two seminars is “To Beg Borrow or Steal: Writing New Poems from Existing Work”
How might you look back on your own poems or those written by poets you admire to draft and develop new work? In this 2-part virtual workshop, we’ll closely read our own poems and that of a few Boston Moderns and create new pieces together. Both sessions are extensions of the same topic. New and experienced poets are welcome.
Since the seminars focus on the same theme, interested writers are encouraged to register for both sessions. They are scheduled for Saturdays, October 23rd and November 20th from 11:00 am – 1:30 pm over zoom.
Registration is through the Southborough Recreation website here. The registration deadline is October 15th.
Macpherson is an educator, essayist and poet who has been partnering with the Library to run their poetry workshops and poetry writing groups since 2015. You can learn more about her here.
