Last week, I shared that one ARHS team had played in the MIAA Central MA sectionals. Since then, four Gonk varsity teams entered the CMADA playoffs.* Three are still in it with Semi-Finals scheduled at Algonquin tomorrow.

Given their track records against opponents, there are good odds for all three to head to Finals this Saturday.

ARHS 102321 Girls Soccer by Owen Jones PhotographyTop seed Girls Soccer earned a bye for the first round in the playoffs. They beat Tantasqua 3-1 in the Quarter Finals.

8th seed Shrewsbury will challenge them in Tuesday’s Semis. ARHS already beat them twice this season. Whoever prevails will play in the Finals on Saturday against the winner of Westborough and Grafton.

ARHS 102321 Boys Soccer by Owen Jones Photography2nd seed Boys Soccer beat South High 3-0 in 1st round and Marlborough 5-1 in Quarter Finals. They’ll play lower seed Westborough tomorrow. If they win, they’ll face either Leominster or Nashoba for the Finals on Saturday.

ARHS 102221 Vollyball by Owen Jones PhotographyGirls Volleyball earned a bye on their 1st round. The 2nd seed Girls bested Grafton in the Quarter Finals 3-0. They’ll take on Shrewsbury, who they beat twice this season.

The Finals will take place on Algonquin’s court this Thursday. Hopefully, our Girls will be playing in it vs the winner of Westborough vs Nashoba.

6th seed ARHS Field Hockey made it through their 1st round, beating Westborough. They fell out at the Quarter Finals, losing 2-6 to Shrewsbury.

The results are in for Boys Golf at lasw Monday’s MIAA Cenral MA Division 1 tourney. ARHS came in 11 of 13, ending their journey this season.

This weekend, Cross Country teams are both competing in the Mid-Wach League Championship.

ARHS 102221 Football by Owen Jones PhotographyFootball’s playoffs are still on the horizon. But Algonquin Football is likely to be well seeded when the time comes. They scored another win, 14-12 over Marlborough last week, making their record 6-1. This Friday they head to Wachusett.

Now, here are the ARHS varsity games on tap for the week.

*Introduced last year, these CMass playoffs are organized by Central MA Athletic Directors’ rather than the traditional MIAA sectionals.

Updated (10/27/21 3:30 pm): I accidentally referred to the Volleyball Finals as Saturday instead of Thursday.
