Last week, Algonquin Girls Basketball beating Marlborough 51-29, adding a third win to their record. Wicked Local covered that here. Earlier in the week, the Telegram had covered the team’s improved outlook versus recent seasons thanks to a “veteran core”:
After three straight losing seasons, the veteran-laden Algonquin girls’ basketball team has shown early on that the team is looking for a different outcome this winter.
Algonquin (2-1) is led 6-foot senior Danielle Adams, a returning Telegram & Gazette All-Star, but coach Melissa Faustino also has a strong supporting cast that has navigated an early gauntlet against Shepherd Hill, Notre Dame Academy and St. Paul. (read more)

- Girls Ice Hockey beat Longmeadow 4-3 and Oakmont 6-1
- Boys Swimming/Diving beat AMSA 88-72 and Westborough 95-70
- Gymnastics beat Westborough and Shrewsbury 130.7 to 120.4 and 120.5
- Boys Indoor Track beat Shrewsbury 25-66
- Girls Basketball beat Marlborough 51-29 (Wicked Local Story)
- Boys Ice Hockey beat Leominster 4-3
- Boys Basketball beat Westborough 82-45, then lost to Marlborough 63-64 in a heartbreaking overtime
