Rec offerings includes several options for children and adults to be active this spring.
Southborough Recreation is promoting registration for classes for programs starting soon and later this spring. Below are details on options that cover activities for kids through adults.
Yoga
Ages 18+
Thursdays (5:30 – 6:30 pm over zoom)
Stretch, de-stress and relax your mind with yoga. This “after-work” at-home class is open to all levels of experience and ability. Yoga sessions include breadth work, posture sequences to build strength and cultivate balance and concentration. Class ends with guided relaxation. Led by seasoned Kripalu certified instructors Malu Doherty and Mary Starr Green.
$80 for 6 week session. Three sessions are offered beginning February 17th, March 31st, and May 12th (click here to register)
Ice Skating Lessons
All Ages 4+
Wednesdays (5:10 – 6:00 pm) or Saturdays (11:00 – 11:50 am)
Southborough Recreation is partnering with The Center Skating Academy at the New England Sports Center located 121 Donald Lynch Blvd, Marlborough, MA 01752. The Center Skating Academy will be offering 2 sessions, 8 weeks each for anyone who is interested in learning to skate or who wants to improve their skating skills.
No rentals, must own skates, beginners are required to wear a helmet.
$210 for 8 classes beginning March 2nd/5th (click here to register)
Special Olympics Basketball – Free program
Ages 5-16
Saturdays (10:00 – 11:00 am at Woodward School)
Children with intellectual disabilities are invited to come and play in this non competitive environment with focus on learning basketball and making friends. Coaches, parents and high school volunteers will work with the players on a wide range of basketball skills and play short games. It will be a learning experience with a lot of fun!

Spirit in Motion Dance Academy Dance Programs
Options for Ages 3-12
Saturdays (varying times at Spirit in Motion Dance Academy in Marlborough
Southborough Recreation has partnered up with Spirit in Motion Dance Academy to bring three Dance programs
- Kid Pop (Age 3-5) – Celebrates a love for individual creativity and encourages our youngest Hip Hop dancers to express themselves through upbeat lively dance movement.
- Move, Groove & Tumble (Age 3-5) – Learn high energy dance moves and acrobatics in the same class!
- Top Ten Trendz (Age 8-12) – Focusing on Jazz Funk styles students will learn shorter combinations in a Tik Tok styled format.
$110 for 4 week session. Three sessions are offered beginning April 30th, June 4th, and July 9th (click here to register)
Archery in the Park
Ages 9+
Saturdays (3:00 – 4:00 pm at Neary School’s field)
Enjoy New England’s favorite season outdoors and sign up for ARCHERY to experience the excitement of shooting a bow and arrow! Our passionate and energetic instructors modernize this timeless Olympic sport and give it a fresh and enthusiastic twist to keep you challenged and engaged throughout the entire course. Each week, learn something new while focusing on the form more than results. All equipment provided. All skill levels welcome. Families welcome!
$158 for Session runs from January 3rd – February 7th. (Days are on flyer above right – which also includes classes no longer being offered)
Women’s Recreation Slow Pitch Softball League
Ages 18+
Sundays (7:00 – 9:00 pm at Melican School, Northborough under the lights)
Join Southborough Recreation as we take part in recreational league play with Northborough Recreation, Westborough Recreation, Shrewsbury Recreation, and Grafton Recreation.
Initial registration apparently filled up. They are currently taking interested players on a waitlist. If enough players sign up for the waitlist, they will add an additional team to the league.
The schedule dependent on number of teams fielded between the towns. More information to be released come closer to Spring 2022.
