Algonquin Girls Hockey is just one win away from making it to the D2 State Championships. The Titans bested Winchester 1-0 in overtime on Saturday. The Community Advocate recapped:
Mallory Farrell snapped a 0-0 tie with a goal on a blistering wrist-shot in overtime. Goalie Lana Pacific notched the shutout for the Titans, continuing a streak that has seen her move through the first three rounds of this year’s MIAA Division II tournament without allowing a goal.

The Telegram posted a great write up with more color commentary, plus interviews with the team after the game. You can read that here and view a clip of Farrell talking about the winning shot below:

The #10 Girls are set to play #22 Medfield in tonight’s Final Four. That’s at Loring Arena in Framingham at 5:30 tonight. Tickets must be purchased online in advance. (To purchase $10 tickets to the “Frozen Four” game, click here.)
The winner will face either Canton or Natick at the TD Garden on Sunday.
As I posted earlier this morning, despite having fallen out of the playoffs, ARHS Boys Hockey is also hitting the ice this week. They’ll be playing with alum as part of a special double header at Worcester Railers in memory of Brian Arsenault. (Click here for those details.)
In other ARHS Athletics news, Indoor Track’s Priscilla de Carvalho competed in Nationals in Staten Island on Friday. She came in #18 and #51 in the Girls Emerging Elite competition. Brogan Madden had qualified to directly compete in the Boys High Jump Championships at Nationals, but wasn’t listed in the posted results.
In other schools’ news, the CA’s Hockey coverage also shared that Assabet Boys made it into their quarter finals, where they lost to Norwell on Saturday.
