A week from tonight, Fay School is re-running a special literacy event for parents of young ones. It’s pitched as a workshop to help you add to “Your Parenting Toolbox”.
The evening will focus on “Fostering Language and Literacy in the Early Years”. The program is geared to parents of 3-6 year olds.
Your Parenting Toolbox: Fostering Language and Literacy in the Early Years
Learn from the experts about how to help your child get ready for reading and develop essential literacy skills. In this workshop, you will learn about typical speech and language development and how these skills form the foundation for reading and writing, the building blocks of academic success. You’ll also learn specific strategies for fostering language and literacy skills at home, and you’ll walk away with a “toolbox” of progress checklists, teaching tools, activity ideas, and literacy games to use with your child.
The event is free, but registration is required. Attendance is limited to 50 participants.
The workshop is scheduled for Thursday, April 14th, from 7:00 – 8:30 pm. It will take place in the Dining Commons at Fay School’s Primary School. That’s at 23 Middle Road, where parking will be available.
