Easter, Holy Week and the United Parishes’ Annual Sunrise Service

One of the ways churches in town are honoring Easter is a joint sunrise service at Hopkinton State Park

For a lot of folks in town, Easter is about much more than bunnies with baskets and chocolate eggs. For those of you looking forward to starting off the day on a spiritual note, town churches are holding their annual sunrise service.

The United Parishes of Southborough welcome everyone to participate in the Easter morning sunrise service at Hopkinton State Park on Sunday, April 17. The service starts at 6:30 am in the marina area of the park. Light refreshments will be served.

In the event of inclement weather, the service will be held at The First Community Church, 137 Southville Road.

First Community Church’s website also describes their special services in honor of Maundy Thursday and Easter here.

As always, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church is promoting Holy Week Services leading up to Easter. Those begin with Palm Sunday (this Sunday, April 10th) and include special services on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday as well as Easter. You can find details on their website.

This year, St. Anne’s has posted a schedules for its Holy Week services, covering Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter. You can find that in the April 3rd bulletin here.

And St. Matthew’s has again posted its schedule for Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday here.

Those are just the churches that have posted special services for the coming week. For information on other churches in Southborough, you can check their websites:
