- Flag placement for Memorial Day (6:00 – 7:00 pm) @ Rural Cemetery, Cordaville Road/Route 85: Residents are invited to participate in placing fresh flags on the graves of our Veterans to honor their service to our nation. Volunteers are asked to gather in advance in front of the stone structure by the maintenance building at the back of the cemetery. For details, see dedicated post.

- ARHS 2022 Murph Challenge (8:00 am) @ CrossFit Forcefield, 94 Main Street Northborough: Algonquin’s Operation Tomahawk is raising funds for the 2022 Murph Challenge and for Tunnel 2 Towers. For details or to sign up, click here.
Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, 2021
- Schools, public offices, and Town facilities are closed for the federal holiday.
- Veterans gathering for Memorial Day (8:30 am) @ VFW/Legion Post Headquarters, Community House, 28 Main Street: Parade convenes at Main St Bank and proceeds down Main St, left onto Cordaville Road, and through the Town’s cemeteries, ending at the Memorial at the Common. This year, the public is invited to take part again and follow along. Distancing and face masks will be at the discretion of the individual. For details, see dedicated post.
- Memorial Day Ceremony (9:00 am) @ Parade of veterans, scouts, and school bands convenes in Main St Bank parking lot, then proceeds down Main St, left onto Cordaville Road, and through the Town’s cemeteries, with ceremonies along the way to remember veterans laid to rest. As usual, the public is encouraged to follow along. Observances will end at the All Wars Memorial with the traditional speakers and ARHS singers. For details, see dedicated post.

- Tuesday Tech Time (4:00 – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Library Teen Room: Need help with technology? Library staff and teen volunteers will make every effort to assist you. Bring questions about ebooks and electronic resources. This is a drop in event; no registrations necessary. Sessions are limited to no more than 1 hour.
- Family Support webinar for Teens’ Well-Being (7:00 pm) @ zoom: NSBORO’s Family Support Webinar Series is promoted as supporting teenagers’ well-being. This session is focused on “Mental health, suicidality, and supporting our children”. For details, see dedicated post.

- Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Southborough cemetery, 11 Cordaville Road: Free walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center, see newsletter. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
- Young Scientists STEM Beginnings 10:30 – 11:30 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: A free in-person series for children, ages 3-6 to learn STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) concepts through hands-on activities, story time and simple experiments. The program through the Southborough Library is sponsored by the YMCA Family & Community Partnership.
- Food Truck Festival (3:30 – 7:0 pm) @ St. Mark’s meadow (corner of Rte 85 and Rte 30): A community event series organized by the Southborough Rotary Club (weekly May 25th – June 15th). This week’s lineup is: Say Cheese, Anzios Brick Oven Pizza, The DogFather, Sabor Latino, and Trombetta”s Farm Ice Cream. For details, see dedicated posts.
- ARHS POPS Night (7:00 – 9:00 pm) @ Algonquin Regional High School gym: Annual musical celebration featuring all of Algonquin’s vocal and instrumental groups. Admission is $10 per person. (Though the NSMA also sells tables for the Boston Pops style fundraiser.) For details, see dedicated post.
