On Saturday evening Southborough’s free community end-of-summer festival took place. It was a lovely evening with a great turnout.
Thanks to Southborough Recreation, Friends of Southborough Recreation, and the event sponsors (see right).
Friends caught up while enjoying food from several food trucks and vendors. The crowd listened to popular tunes cranked out by Hit the Bus and enjoyed free activities.
There were several inflatables for children. Skyrise Children’s Theater painted faces for free. Southborough Youth Basketball offered a hoops game. The Southborough Community Fund brought in a balloon twister. And Algonquin’s Team 1100 allowed kids to play with some of their popular “robots”.
The fun was capped off by fireworks.
Below are my photo highlights (plus some fireworks pics captured by my kids).
Updated (8/31/22 11:10 am): The SPD shared a gorgeous pic of the fireworks on Facebook. (See cropped version right.) In the Community Advocate, photographer Ed Kovarski had some great photos, including of an activity I missed – a “raingutter regatta” offered by the Cub Scouts. You can see those here.
