On Friday, MIAA posted Power Rankings for Field Hockey, Football, Boys & Girls Soccer, and Girls Volleyball.
Gonk Football was ranked 19th for Division 2. That was prior to its third straight loss on Friday. Shrewsbury shutout the Titans 28-0.
In contrast, Soccer and Volleyball scored more wins after the rankings were posted.
Girls Volleyball and Girls Soccer each ranked 13th for Division 1.
Volleyball won three more shutouts last week. The first two wins over Wachusetts and Hopkinton were included in the Power Rankings. On Saturday, they extended their streak to 5 games with a win over Shepherd Hill.
Girls soccer beat Nashoba 3-0 earlier on Tuesday and ended the week with a 4-0 win over Wachusett.
The Boys ranked only 43 for D1 Soccer. Earlier in the week, they tied both Marlborough and Leominster, 1-1. On Saturday, they outscored Nipmuc, 2-1.
Field Hockey lost 2-4 to Shrewsbury prior to being ranked 13th for Division 1.
Outside of the rankings. . .
Boys Golf continues to ratchet up more wins than losses. Last week, they beat Groton-Dunstable, Shrewsbury and Wachusett before losing to Leominster. They now stand at 8-4 for the season.
Girls Cross Country performed well at the MSTCA Team Challenge invitational over the weekend, coming in at #3 as a team. (Olivia Guckian placed 1st in the 3k, Austeja Bazikas 2nd in the 2k, and Ada Gebauer 5th in the 5k race.)
Both the Boys and Girls Cross Country teams beat Westborough in their meets on Tuesday. This morning, the Telegram posted a story about the leadership of the Boys’ senior captains.
