Saturday, October 29, 2022
- Drive Thru Flu Clinic (9:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Algonquin Regional High School, 79 Bartlett St, Northborough: Pre-registration is required. For details, see dedicated post.
- Halloween Party (10:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Fay School Campus: The annual free party for kids put on by Fay School and the Southborough Library. Kids are invited to come in costume for games and crafts, a story time with Miss Kim, the costume parade, and spooky music with Stacey Peasley. For details, see dedicated post.
- Scarecrow Saturdays (10:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: Free fall fun, no registration required. Kids (and adventurous adults) can have their face painted for free, then take a selfie with scarecrows outside the farm store. Costumes are welcome, and they encourage bringing silly accessories (or team jerseys) to dress the scarecrows for their glamour shot with you. (This is the last opportunity this fall.) - Open Lab for Ideas (10:30 – 12:30 pm) @ Southborough Library, Teen Room: Biweekly program for 12-18 yr olds to explore how they can use Library equipment to take creative project ideas and make them a reality.
- Strategic Board Game Day (11:00 am – 3:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, Teen Room: Come play games and make new friends at the library! Get an intro to strategy board gaming with a focus on easy to learn, gateway games. For ages 10+, all experience levels welcome. For details, see dedicated post.
- Sit & Knit (2:00 – 4:00pm) @ Southborough Library: Biweekly program for ages 18+ to drop in and work on your latest knitting or crochet projects while you enjoy the company of fellow yarn crafters in a relaxed social setting. All levels are welcome but no formal instruction will be given.

- Boo in the Barnyard (1:00, 2:00, or 3:00 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: All ages/family – 60 minute window – pick a time slot. A costume party with Halloween activities for families such as ghost, pumpkin, and candy corn crafts, mask-making, and the farm’s special take on trick-or-treating. For details, see dedicated post.
Monday, October 31, 2022 — Halloween
- Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Trottier Middle School’s outdoor track: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
- Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Join Miss Kim for stories and craft based on a weekly theme. Ages 2-5 years and their parents or caregivers. No registration required. (Mondays & Tuesdays through most of the school year.)
- Creativity Club (3:30 – 4:30 pm) @ Southborough, Library Teen Room: Young adults ages 12 to 18 are invited to drop-in to work on creative projects. Craft materials will be available and writing prompts and projects provided. No pre-registration required.
- Trick or Treating (after dusk): In our town, trick or treaters traditionally start ringing bells when it starts to get dark.

- Book Bugs: Farm Fun for Little Ones (10:00 – 11:00 am) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: Pre-registration (and fee) required. For ages 2 to 5 years old, adult supervision required (siblings under 2 yrs old can attend for free). Bring your little bug to the farm for an interactive children’s story time. We’ll read a farm story, make a craft, and explore the farm! Each day will have a different theme. (Biweekly program.) For details, see related post.
- Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Join Miss Kim for stories and craft based on a weekly theme. Ages 2-5 years old and their parents or caregivers. No registration required. (Mondays & Tuesdays through most of the school year.)
- Senior Songsters (11:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ where: The Senior Center’s singing group’s weekly rehearsal. This friendly group is open to any senior who enjoys singing regardless of ability. (Those who prefer to listen can sit in.) For details, see related post.
- Bridge (12:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: A weekly card group, welcoming new participants. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
- Tuesday Tech Time (4:00 – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Library Teen Room: Each week, library staff and teen volunteers will make every effort to assist patrons with technology questions. Bring questions about ebooks and electronic resources. This is a drop in event; no registrations necessary.
- Cook Book Club (6:30 – 8:30 pm) @ Southborough Library, main floor: Pick a recipe to make from Half baked harvest: Super Simple by Tieghan Gerard. Bring the dish to share at a gathering at the Library. New participants encouraged and all ages and partners welcome. For details, see related post.

- Young Scientists STEM Beginnings (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: 1st class in a free 6 week series for kids ages 3-6 to learn Science, Technology, Engineering and Math concepts through hands-on activities, story time and simple experiments. - Read to a Dog (6:30 – 7:30 pm) @ Southborough Library: Program preferably for kids ages 5 and up with some reading ability. Each month, children can sign up to read a short book to a certified therapy dog. Register at the Children’s Room desk or by contacting kivers@southboroughma.com or 508-485-5031.
- Those Kids: Learning outside the Lines (6:30 – 7:30 pm) @ webinar: Virtual workshop co-sponsored by NSPAC. The public is invited to hear the success story of an adult who used to be “one of those kids”. For details, see dedicated post.
- Southborough Rotary Club (7:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, main floor: Regular meeting of the Rotary Club of Southborough. New and prospective members are always welcome. (Held on the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month.)

- Baby/Toddler Storytime (11:00 – 11:45 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: This weekly story time is for children age 0-2 years and their parents or caregivers. Each session will include puppets, stories, and music. No registration required.
- Author Visit with Phaea Crede (4:00 – 4:45 pm) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Join children’s author and Southborough resident Phaea Crede to celebrate her new book, play writing games, do silly crafts, and enjoy a read-aloud. For details, see dedicated post.
- Virtual Book Club (7:30 – 8:30 pm) @ zoom: The Southborough Library is hosting a Virtual Book Club. Participants chat about what they’re reading or listening to with library staff and other patrons on the Zoom platform.
