  • Girl Scout Holiday Sing-along (6:30 – 7:30 pm) @ Community House Lawn: Event for all families in Southborough, hosted by the Girl Scouts. Kick off lighting up the Community House for the holiday season with an old-fashioned holiday sing-along with some modern touches. For details, see dedicated post.

  • Annual Kids Shop (9:00 am – 2:00 pm) @ St Anne’s Church Parish Hall, 20 Boston Road: An annual Southborough tradition. Boy Scout Troop 92 provides a safe haven for kids to do their own holiday shopping for family members without parents’ prying eyes. While waiting, adults can enjoy a bake sale and coffee.   • Art and Gift Sale (10:00 am – 5:00 pm) @ 49 Lynbrook Road (L’Abri Fellowship): Local artisans and craftspeople will be selling holiday gifts. This event is free and open to the public. Includes jewelry, fine art, natural body care, textiles, and ceramics. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Christmas Bazaar (10:00 am – 2:00 pm) @ St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 27 Main Street: Featuring the White Elephant, jewelry, toy, and craft sales, a silent auction, kids games and activities, basket raffle, a lunchtime Café, and more. All proceeds benefit the church’s Youth Group Annual Mission Trip and the Southborough Food Pantry’s Fuel Assistance Program. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Holiday Book Sale (10:00 am – 2:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: The Friends of the Southborough Library will be holding a special book sale upstairs. One free book per child. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Holiday Tree Party (10:30 am – 2:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: Kids are invited to enjoy refreshments and make ornaments to hang on the library holiday tree. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Santa Day (12:00 – 3:00 pm) @ Community House: See Santa arrive by fire truck. Then join him and Southborough Kindergroup at the Community House for activities and refreshments before kids share their wishes with Santa while posing for a picture. For details, see dedicated post.
  • “A Wish for Peace” WCC Holiday Show (8:00 pm) @ Gibbons Middle School, 20 Fisher St, Westborough: The Westborough Community Chorus will perform its annual Holiday Show with Christmas favorites, some Hanukkah tunes and songs of hope and peace. There will be an audience sing-along and a visit from Santa. For details, see related post.

Sunday, December 4, 2022 

  • Gingerbread House Building Workshop (11:30 am) @ Pilgrim Congregational Church, 15 Common St: Build gingerbread houses while listening to festive music and drinking hot chocolate. Proceeds will benefit the Southborough Food Pantry! (RSVP by November 30.) For details, see related post.
  • The True Story of Santa Claus (11:30 am – 1:00 pm) @ St. Anne’s Parish stage, 20 Boston Rd: The public is cordially invited to a staged reading play of “The True Story of Santa Claus”, followed by a party with pictures with “Santa”, Nativity Gingerbread House Making, Candle Wreath Making, and more.   • NACC Christmas Concert (2:00 pm) @ Algonquin Regional, 79 Bartlett St, Northborough: The Northborough Area Community Chorus will perform its annual Christmas Holiday Show. Expect a visit from Santa. For details, see related post.
  • “A Wish for Peace” WCC Holiday Show (2:00 pm) @ Gibbons Middle School, 20 Fisher St, Westborough: The Westborough Community Chorus will perform its annual Holiday Show with Christmas favorites, some Hanukkah tunes and songs of hope and peace.   • Messiah Community Concert (3:30 pm) @ Pilgrim Congregational Church, 15 Common St: The annual concert performing selections from Handel’s Messiah. For details, see dedicated post.

  • Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Trottier Middle School’s outdoor track: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
  • Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Join Miss Kim for stories and craft based on a weekly theme. Ages 2-5 years and their parents or caregivers. No registration required. (Mondays & Tuesdays through most of the school year.)
  • Creativity Club (3:30 – 4:30 pm) @ Southborough, Library Teen Room: Young adults ages 12 to 18 are invited to drop-in to work on creative projects. Craft materials will be available and writing prompts and projects provided. No pre-registration required.

Tuesday, December 6, 2022

  • Book Bugs: Farm Fun for Little Ones (10:00 – 11:00 am) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: Pre-registration (and fee) required. For ages 2 to 5 years old, adult supervision required (siblings under 2 yrs old can attend for free). Bring your little bug to the farm for an interactive children’s story time. We’ll read a farm story, make a craft, and explore the farm! Each day will have a different theme. (Biweekly program.) For details, see related post.
  • Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Join Miss Kim for stories and craft based on a weekly theme. Ages 2-5 years old and their parents or caregivers. No registration required. (Mondays & Tuesdays through most of the school year.)
  • Senior Songsters (11:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ where: The Senior Center’s singing group’s weekly rehearsal. This friendly group is open to any senior who enjoys singing regardless of ability. (Those who prefer to listen can sit in.) For details, see related post.
  • Bridge (12:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: A weekly card group, welcoming new participants. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Tuesday Tech Time (4:00 – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Library Teen Room: Each week, library staff and teen volunteers will make every effort to assist patrons with technology questions. Bring questions about ebooks and electronic resources. This is a drop in event; no registrations necessary. 
  • Cook Book Club (6:30 – 8:30 pm) @ Southborough Library: Participants are encouraged to pick a recipe to make from a selected cookbook, then make and bring the dish to share at the Library. New participants encouraged and all ages and partners welcome. For details, see related post.
  • Lessons and Carols (6:45 pm) @ Belmont Chapel, St. Mark’s School: The public is invited to attend the annual Service of Nine Lessons and Carols for Christmas with new and traditional Christmas anthems and congregational caroling. For details see dedicated post.

  • Young Scientists STEM Beginnings (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: 1st class in a free 6 week series for kids ages 3-6 to learn Science, Technology, Engineering and Math concepts through hands-on activities, story time and simple experiments.   • Ladies Night Out and Boxwood Trees (6:00 – 9:00 pm) @ Southborough Community House, 28 Main St: With the holiday music playing, join Gulbankian Florist’s DIY Boxwood Tree workshop.   • Southborough Rotary Club (7:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, main floor: Regular meeting of the Rotary Club of Southborough. New and prospective members are always welcome. (Held on the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month.)

  • Mah Jongg (10:00 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: The weekly program would love new players to join. Feel free to stop by to watch or talk to one of the players to see if you would be interested. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Baby/Toddler Storytime (11:00 – 11:45 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: This weekly story time is for children age 0-2 years and their parents or caregivers. Each session will include puppets, stories, and music. No registration required.
  • Wellness Series: Emotional Toolkit (7:00 – 8:00 pm) @ zoom: The free Wellness Series is offered by the Southborough Library and Jill Vroman Fitness & Wellness. This session, learn about your emotions and how they can impact your health. Pre-register here.
  • Assabet Showcase (6:00 – 8:30 pm) @ Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School: Prospective students and families are invited to learn more about how Assabet prepares students for both career and college.   • Open Lab for Ideas (10:30 – 12:30 pm) @ Southborough Library, Teen Room: Biweekly program for 12-18 yr olds to explore how they can use Library equipment to take creative project ideas and make them a reality.
  • Read to a Dog (11:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: Program preferably for kids ages 5 and up with some reading ability. Each month, children can sign up to read a short book to a certified therapy dog. Register at the Children’s Room desk or by contacting kivers@southboroughma.com or 508-485-5031.
  • Sit & Knit (2:00 – 4:00pm) @ Southborough Library: Biweekly program for ages 18+ to drop in and work on your latest knitting or crochet projects while you enjoy the company of fellow yarn crafters in a relaxed social setting. All levels are welcome but no formal instruction will be given.
  • Virtual DIY Healthy Gifts (2:00 – 3:00 pm): Virtual workshop offered by the Southborough Public Library. Learn how to make healthy, homemade delicious & decadent desserts. To register, click here.

  • NAHS Winter Wonderland (10:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Algonquin Regional High School Cafeteria, 79 Bartlett St. Northborough: Algonquin’s National Art Honors Society is hosting a free community event (but donations are appreciated). Enjoy crafts, hot cocoa, a story station, and holiday cheer. For details see dedicated post.
  • Fill a Cruiser (1:00 – 5:00 pm) @ Public Safety Building, 32 Cordaville Road: Southborough Police Asssociation is seeking donations for the Southborough Food Pantry in their 2nd annual collection drive for the holidays. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Interboro Community Band Winter Concert (2:00 pm) @ Westborough High School, 90 W Main St: A free symphonic concert for the public featuring “Contemporary Selections and Holiday Favorites” from the regional band’s repertoire. For details see dedicated post.
  • Youth Christmas Caroling (2:30 – 4:30 pm) @ St. Anne Parish, 20 Boston Road: Depart from St. Anne’s to local venues. (They will be joining the United Parishes of Southborough on this special outing.) For details, see related post.
  • AVM Messiah Sing (3:30 pm) @ First Church, 37 High Street, Marlborough: Assabet Valley Mastersingers regional chorus will perform the Christmas portion of Handel’s oratorio and the “Hallelujah Chorus” with audience participation and organ accompaniment. $10 admission.   • Blue Christmas service (6:30 – 7:30 pm) @ Pilgrim Church, 15 Common Street: A community wide “Blue Christmas” service jointly offered by Pilgrim & St. Mark’s churches to “find solace as we enter the Twelve Days of Christmas.” For details, see dedicated post.
