- Open Lab for Ideas (10:30 – 12:30 pm) @ Southborough Library, Teen Room: Biweekly program for 12-18 yr olds to explore how they can use Library equipment to take creative project ideas and make them a reality.
- Read to a Dog (11:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: Program preferably for kids ages 5 and up with some reading ability. Each month, children can sign up to read a short book to a certified therapy dog. Register at the Children’s Room desk or by contacting kivers@southboroughma.com or 508-485-5031.
- Sit & Knit (2:00 – 4:00pm) @ Southborough Library: Biweekly program for ages 18+ to drop in and work on your latest knitting or crochet projects while you enjoy the company of fellow yarn crafters in a relaxed social setting. All levels are welcome but no formal instruction will be given.
- Virtual DIY Healthy Gifts (2:00 – 3:00 pm): Virtual workshop offered by the Southborough Public Library. Learn how to make healthy, homemade delicious & decadent desserts. To register, click here.
- Chestnut Hill by Moonlight: Campfire Cooking (4:30 – 6:00 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: TTOR’s ranger will share his wealth of campfire cooking methods. Have a warm treat near a crackling fire as the sun sets and the moon rises. Pre-registration (and fee) required. For details, see related post.

- NAHS Winter Wonderland (10:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Algonquin Regional High School Cafeteria, 79 Bartlett St. Northborough: Algonquin’s National Art Honors Society is hosting a free community event (but donations are appreciated). Enjoy crafts, hot cocoa, a story station, and holiday cheer. For details see dedicated post.
- Fill a Cruiser (1:00 – 5:00 pm) @ Public Safety Building, 32 Cordaville Road: Southborough Police Asssociation is seeking donations for the Southborough Food Pantry in their 2nd annual collection drive for the holidays. For details, see dedicated post.
- Interboro Community Band Winter Concert (2:00 pm) @ Westborough High School, 90 W Main St: A free symphonic concert for the public featuring “Contemporary Selections and Holiday Favorites” from the regional band’s repertoire. For details see dedicated post.
- Youth Christmas Caroling (2:30 – 4:30 pm) @ St. Anne Parish, 20 Boston Road: Depart from St. Anne’s to local venues. (They will be joining the United Parishes of Southborough on this special outing.) For details, see related post.
- AVM Messiah Sing (3:30 pm) @ First Church, 37 High Street, Marlborough: Assabet Valley Mastersingers regional chorus will perform the Christmas portion of Handel’s oratorio and the “Hallelujah Chorus” with audience participation and organ accompaniment. $10 admission. - Blue Christmas service (6:30 – 7:30 pm) @ Pilgrim Church, 15 Common Street: A community wide “Blue Christmas” service jointly offered by Pilgrim & St. Mark’s churches to “find solace as we enter the Twelve Days of Christmas.” For details, see dedicated post.

- Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Trottier Middle School’s outdoor track: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
- Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Join Miss Kim for stories and craft based on a weekly theme. Ages 2-5 years and their parents or caregivers. No registration required. (Mondays & Tuesdays through most of the school year.)
- Creativity Club (3:30 – 4:30 pm) @ Southborough, Library Teen Room: Young adults ages 12 to 18 are invited to drop-in to work on creative projects. Craft materials will be available and writing prompts and projects provided. No pre-registration required.

- Book Bugs: Farm Fun for Little Ones (10:00 – 11:00 am) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: Pre-registration (and fee) required. For ages 2 to 5 years old, adult supervision required (siblings under 2 yrs old can attend for free). Bring your little bug to the farm for an interactive children’s story time. We’ll read a farm story, make a craft, and explore the farm! Each day will have a different theme. (Biweekly program.) For details, see related post.
- Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Join Miss Kim for stories and craft based on a weekly theme. Ages 2-5 years old and their parents or caregivers. No registration required. (Mondays & Tuesdays through most of the school year.)
- Senior Songsters (11:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ where: The Senior Center’s singing group’s weekly rehearsal. This friendly group is open to any senior who enjoys singing regardless of ability. (Those who prefer to listen can sit in.) For details, see related post.
- Bridge (12:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: A weekly card group, welcoming new participants. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
- Tuesday Tech Time (4:00 – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Library Teen Room: Each week, library staff and teen volunteers will make every effort to assist patrons with technology questions. Bring questions about ebooks and electronic resources. This is a drop in event; no registrations necessary.
- Select Board Office Hours (6:00 – 7:00 pm) @ Town House Hearing Room, 17 Common St: Residents are invited to drop in to informally speak with two Board members about any questions, concerns or interests. This session is with Chair Kathy Cook and Member Lisa Braccio.
- Trottier Instrumental Concert (7:00 pm) @ Trottier Middle School: Winter concert of the school’s bands and orchestra.
- Poetry Workshop (6:30 – 8:30 pm) @ Southborough Library, main level: Bring in five copies of original poetry to share. The group will provide supportive feedback. If you don’t have a poem, come anyway and share your insights. (Meets twice monthly.)
- Narcan Training (6:00 – 6:30 pm) @ Northborough Free Library, upstairs meeting room, 34 Main St, Northborough: Clinicians from the Greater Boroughs Partnership for Health are offering training and supplies to help revers opioid overdoses. Registration is required. For details, see dedicated post.

- Elder Law Advice (10:00 – 10:45 am) @ phone or zoom: Southborough seniors can sign up for a free 15 minute session of individualized legal advice from an Elder Law attorney. For details, see the Senior Center’s newsletter, p. 10.
- Young Scientists STEM Beginnings (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: 1st class in a free 6 week series for kids ages 3-6 to learn Science, Technology, Engineering and Math concepts through hands-on activities, story time and simple experiments. - Southborough Rotary Interact Club (7:30 – 8:30 pm) @ Southborough Library, main level: Take action, build international understanding, and make new friends around the world. - Wellness Series: Restorative Sleep (7:00 – 8:00 pm) @ zoom: The Southborough Library and Jill Vroman Fitness & Wellness are offering free, virtual Wellness workshops to the community. This session focuses on learning to relax into sleep with a focus on dealing with the stress of the holiday season and skills to assist with seasonal affective disorder. - Children’s Christmas Pageant (6:15 – 7:30 pm) @ St. Anne Parish, 20 Boston Road: A dinner theater play highlighting the beginning of the Gospel of St. John, and the infancy narratives from the Gospels of St. Luke & St. Matthew. - Holi-gay Party (7:00 – 9:00 pm) @ Pilgrim Church, 15 Common St: Saturday Pride Identity Art Project hosted by Southborough Safe Spaces (A social group for LBGTQ+ youth of all faiths in grades 6-12 and their allies.) - O’ Antiphon Vespers & Ornament Making (6:45 pm) @ St. Anne Parish, 20 Boston Road: The ancient liturgy will immediately follow the 5:30 pm Mass liturgy. It will feature Gregorian chant highlighting the Great O’Antiphon,”O Adonai,” a tradition dating back to the 8th Century. O’ Antiphon ornament making follows in the Parish Hall. Updated (12/12/2022 12:27 pm): Initially, I noted that the Select Board Office Hours generally happen on the 2nd Tuesday of the month but weren’t confirmed yet. The Town posted the info this morning. I also inserted Trottier’s Instrumental Concert on Tuesday night.
