The Boroughs Ice Hockey final on Saturday turns out to have been an exciting one with a disappointing end for the Titans.
Wachusetts took home the cup from the 4-school Boys Ice Hockey tournament. The Telegram recapped the 2-3 loss in overtime:
Thomas Willman scored the winner in overtime, assisted by Dennis Jardine and Jason Flaherty, as the Mountaineers (3-0) edged the Titans (2-1) to capture the Boroughs Cup at NorthStar Ice Sports. Aidan Riley and Clark Gardula also scored for Wachusett. Andrew Hodge and Ben Yosa had the tallies for Algonquin.
Earlier in the week, Titans Girls Ice Hockey tied its season opener against Franklin, 4-4. The Telegram was the lastest paper to cover the Girls team’s efforts to “rebuild”. You can read about that here.
At Mass State Track Coaches Association’s Speed Classic the Gonk Boys came in 3rd place for the 4×400 Meter Relay. For the full results for both the Boys and Girls Indoor Track teams, click here.
