The Northborough/Southborough Special Education Parent Advisory Council’s special February events both take place tomorrow.
One is their regular morning event for parents to connect. The other is a special workshop over zoom, led by a “Parenting Coach” to help families learn to resolve/reduce conflicts. (Teachers and other professionals are also welcome to learn about the collaborative approach.)
NSPAC is the “volunteer-run, positive and solution oriented organization of parents of students ages 3-22 with special needs, medical challenges, and learning differences in the Northborough and Southborough School Districts.”
Below are the event details, plus info on two other upcoming events to stay tuned for more details on.

From Conflict to Collaboration: A Parenting Framework that Brings Out the Best in You and Your Child/Teen
Wednesday, February 15th, 7:00-8:30 pm on Zoom
Do you ever feel frustrated with your child/teenager? Find yourself shouting and imposing consequences in reaction to challenging behavior but it doesn’t often work? Imagine having a simple framework that guides you in every parenting challenge and brings out the best in both you and your child. The Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) approach gives parents concrete tools to relate better to their kids, reduce challenging behavior, and build their child/teen’s skills in frustration tolerance, flexibility and problem-solving. . .
Teachers and other providers interested in learning more about CPS are also welcome.
The workshop is lead by Parenting Coach Karen Kraut. You can learn more about her and her approach here.
This event is co-sponsored with Shrewsbury’s and Nashoba SEPACs. To register, click here.
