Join St Mark’s Church for Pancake Supper on “Shrove Tuesday”

The Episcopal church is offering a pancake dinner the night before Lent.

Enjoy pancakes with “all the fixins” and other festivities at the Shrove/Mardi Gras event next week.

To enjoy a last day of “fat eating” before the start of Lent, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church is holding a pancake dinner. They are inviting the public to join them.

The invitation welcomes the public to join them for the “tasty and fun annual tradition” this Tuesday, February 21st from 5:30 – 7:00 pm in their Parish Hall (27 Main Street).

The focus is eating, but there will be other activities as part of the celebration:

Shrove Tuesday (also known in Commonwealth countries and Ireland as Pancake Tuesday or Pancake Day) is the day immediately preceding Ash Wednesday (the first day of Lent), which is celebrated in some countries by consuming pancakes. In others, especially those where it is called Mardi Gras, this is a carnival day, and also the last day of “fat eating” or “gorging” before the fasting period of Lent.

Come to eat pancakes with all the fixins’, color and hide the “Alleluias”, have a bonfire of old palms, and more.
