Updated (3/3/23 11:34 am): Due to the forecast, Rotary doesn’t plan to be at the Transfer Station this Saturday. But they are still collecting donations online and by mail through the end of March.
The Rotary Club of Southborough are continuing to raise funds for victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
This Saturday, March 4th from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm, Rotary will be accepting donations in person at the Transfer Station.
Members are asking our community to help survivors impacted by the massive earthquake:
Over 47,000 people have died due to the earthquake in Turkey and Syria. Rescue missions continue. The Rotary Club of Southborough is raising money for Turkey and Syria Earthquake Relief. Survivors are challenged by the devastation around them and the lack of resources to rely on.
The Rotary Foundation Trustees decided that all donations marked Disaster Relief made from now until 31 March 2023, will go to the Turkey/Syria Disaster Response Fund and will be used to aid earthquake relief projects. In addition, the Trustees made available more than $125,000 to Rotary districts affected by the earthquake through Disaster Response Grants. . .
Rotary International is a 5-Star 501(c)(3) charity on Charity Navigator. We work directly with volunteer Rotarians on the ground at the epicenter of the disaster and our partners, Shelter Box and Habitat for Humanity International, in the local countries to provide much needed disaster relief.
Rotary previously promoted:
We appreciate any size donation. If anyone wishes to make a donation tax deductible, they can ask any of the Rotarians at the Transfer Station on how to do that.
