Every year, area senior citizens are welcomed to a special conference hosted by our district’s state senator. This spring, the conference will be back in-person for the first time since 2019.* Th event is scheduled for Thursday, April 20th at Assabet Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School.
State Senator Jamie Eldridge (D-Acton) announced details for the 42nd Senior Conference:
The Senior Conference is intended to provide seniors with a day of useful information, entertainment and educational workshops from expert guest speakers on topics including aging well, solo aging, and resources for caregivers and family members. Senator Eldridge also provides free breakfast, and a delicious free lunch made by the culinary students of Assabet Valley.
“I’m excited to bring the Senior Conference back to Assabet Valley, in-person, with the opportunity to catch up with seniors from throughout the Senate district that I represent, and provide seniors with critical information, as well as entertainment, fun, food, and of course raffle prizes, including the Big Chair from Bouvier Pharmacy of Marlborough,” said Senator Jamie Eldridge. “I look forward to hearing the concerns of seniors, discussing state initiatives to better support older residents in Massachusetts, and highlighting the work of the Legislature so far this session.”
The school is located at 215 Fitchburg St, Marlborough, from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. The event is free for seniors.
[Editor’s Note: It turns out that the list of presenters initially listed on the program website were outdated. I was notified that they have been updated.
I don’t have time to write up the new list. I can share that the updated schedule doesn’t include U.S. Senator Markey but it does include zumba, yoga, and musical acts. For the new list click here.]**
