Susan M. (McDonald) Ricci, 75, of Southborough MA, died peacefully, with her two sons by her side in the early morning hours of Friday March 31, 2023, at UMass Memorial – Marlborough Hospital.
She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lorraine- Bunny (Brigham) McDonald of Marlborough MA.
Born in Marlborough MA, Susan graduated from St. Anne’s Academy and then attended the David Hale Dental Hygienist School. After working in Marlborough as a dental hygienist, she then went on and raised her two sons. Susan went on to, and enjoyed her many years of employment working as an administrative assistant at Reservoir Printing of Southborough, from which she later retired. Upon retirement, she enjoyed working part time at Golden Pond Assisted Living in Hopkinton.
Susan enjoyed spending time with her family and many close friends and taking numerous trips to Florida, Texas, Maine and Cape Cod. She especially enjoyed her times in Newport, RI, where she would routinely spend time walking along the Cliff walk and the beaches, attending the Annual Newport Garden and Flower Tours and enjoying her lobster roll’s and iced tea while sitting by the ocean, enjoying the views and ocean breezes.
Susan also enjoyed her time at the Southborough Senior Center, where she would enjoy being involved in numerous activities with her friends. Susan especially loved spending time with her many close friends, enjoying walks and conversations as well as their numerous gatherings and luncheons with the girls..
Susan loved sports, and always enjoyed following her sons and cheering them on while they played high school and college sports. Susan was an avid Boston sports enthusiast, who especially enjoyed watching and rooting for the Patriots.
Susan is survived by her two sons, Chris Ricci of CT and Jason Ricci of ID, her sisters, Nancy McDonald of MA. And Sharon Burns and her husband Mark of CT, her niece and nephew, Brianna Burns and Cameron Burns as well as her many very close, longtime dear friends..
Susan’s sons wish to thank the remarkable! Healthcare providers / staff at Marlborough Hospital as well as at Whittier Rehab for the unwavering support, care efforts and love, that they showed their mother over a prolonged period of time, cannot thank them enough for their sincere care of their mother.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday April 10, 2023, from 5:00-7:00PM at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough, MA 01752. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at 9:00AM at Immaculate Conception church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough, MA. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson St., Marlborough, MA.
