Algonquin’s annual Pops Night is the school’s end of year concert. For seniors, it’s the their final NSBORO performance. This year’s event is Wednesday, May 31st at 7:00 pm.
The concert features every instrumental and vocal ensemble in the school. For the occasion, the ARHS gym is transformed into a “Boston Pops” style venue with seating for several hundreds of guests, including reserved round tables on the floor.
It’s a bit more light and colorful than the school’s usual formal black and white affairs. According to a prior year’s announcement, “The musical selections are also different from a typical school concert. Pops Night features music from movie soundtracks, musical theater, and pop tunes ranging from rock to jazz.”
In addition to offering a good time, the event raises funds for the Northborough-Southborough Music Association.
NSMA members are each entitled to two free tickets. General admission is $10 per person. (Tickets can be purchased at the door.) The admission covers general seating in the bleachers.
For an additional $100, you can reserve a table that seats ten. (That doesn’t cover the admission.) To reserve a table, please contact NSMA at nsmaboard@gmail.com and pay via Venmo to @NSMA-ARHS.
Another, less expensive, option for supporting NSMA and student musicians is purchasing a “one liner” in the printed program. A $5 donation by May 24th covers up to 25 words of congratulations/well wishes. (Click here for details.)
