  • Town Forest Guided Nature Walks (9:00 – 10:15 am) @ Southborough Town Forest: One of two family-friendly nature walks this day led by a naturalist and environmental and outdoor educator. Get to know the Town Forest trails, learn about native wildlife, observe and identify Plants, Trees, and signs of animals. Registration is required. This rescheduled event is part of Southborough’s Planet Palooza celebration. For details, see dedicated post.)
  • NECC 5K for Autism (9:00 am – 1:00 pm) @ and around Neary School campus (but parking is offsite): The annual 5K Walk/Run to support The New England Center for Children’s autism education and research. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Saturdays at Fay (10:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Fay School: At the free event for kids ages 3-6 and their parents, HERO Kids Sports. For details, see related post.
  • Innovation Saturday (10:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Fay School: Free, hands-on innovation workshops, designed for children ages 8-12, HERO Kids Sports will lead a fun, high-energy morning of sports and games. Pre-registration is required. For details, see related post.
  • Young Food Explorers (11:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: Picky eaters ages 4-7 with parents, can explore various foods without any pressure to eat it. Space is limited, and registration is required. Please email msorensen@southboroughma.com to sign up. For details, see related post.

  • FaySummer Camp Open House (11:00 am – 1:00 pm) @ Fay School: Drop in for a campus tour to see where FaySummer campers spend their days and participate in camp activities with camp counselors. For details, see related post.
  • Shop with a Purpose (11:00 am – 4:00 pm) @ Community House: The Craft & Vendor Fair in time for Mother’s Day will also help support Friends of the Southborough Youth Commission’s Summer Camp Scholarship program.   • Read to a Dog (11:00 – 11:45 am) @ Southborough Library: Program preferably for kids ages 5 and up with some reading ability. Each month, children can sign up to read a short book to a certified therapy dog. Register at the Children’s Room desk or by contacting kivers@southboroughma.com or 508-485-5031.
  • Taco Party (1:00 – 2:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: Young people, ages 9-11, can come enjoy making tacos at the library, led by a professional children’s cooking instructor.   • Sit & Knit (2:00 – 4:00pm) @ Southborough Library: Biweekly program for ages 18+ to drop in and work on your latest knitting or crochet projects while you enjoy the company of fellow yarn crafters in a relaxed social setting. All levels are welcome but no formal instruction will be given.
  • AVM Latin American Celebration (7:30 pm) @ Whitcomb Middle School, Marlborough: Assabet Valley Mastersingers, the regional singing group that includes Southborough members will perform a “choral tribute” to Latin American music. For details, see related post.

  • Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Trottier Middle School’s outdoor track: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
  • Delayed Opening for Southborough Library (12:00 pm): The Library will be closed during its regular morning hours to allow employees to take part in a town staff training session.

  • Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Join Miss Kim for stories and craft based on a weekly theme. Ages 2-5 years old and their parents or caregivers. No registration required. (Mondays & Tuesdays through most of the school year.)
  • Bridge (12:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: A weekly card group, welcoming new participants. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Drawing on Your Superpowers (4:00 – 6:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: 8-12 year olds can sign up for this session with comic book artist Jonathan Todd. The workshop is part of Southborough’s Mental Health Awareness Month series. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Geeks Who Drink Trivia Night (8:00 – 10:00 pm) @ Owen O’Leary’s, 50 Turnpike Rd: Weekly Trivia game night with prizes. For details, see dedicated post.

  • Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Southborough cemetery, 11 Cordaville Road: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
  • Outside Preschool Yoga (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library lawn: A free Library program for children age 3-6 with parents (siblings welcome). A Certified Kids’ Yoga Instructor will lead children through a series of yoga postures, using games, music, and literacy activities. Yoga mats will be provided. Registration is required in the children’s room or by emailing kivers@southboroughma.com. (Weekly sessions through May.)
  • ARHS Spring Art Show (5:00 – 7:00 pm) @ Algonquin Regional High School, Wrestling Gym, 79 Bartlett St, Northborough: Public reception for exhibition of student art
  • Southborough Rotary Club (7:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, main floor: Regular meeting of the Rotary Club of Southborough. New and prospective members are always welcome. (Held on the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month.)

  • Preschool Farm Explorers (10:00 – 11:00 am) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: For ages 2 years 9 months to 5 years old, Adult supervision required (discount for younger siblings and siblings under 1 yr old can attend for free) Your little farm explorers will become fully immersed in what life is like here at Chestnut Hill.   • Genealogy Club (7:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: Monthly informal group meeting to learn and share tips about resources for researching family history. Free and open to the public. Bring your laptop, log into Ancestry.com and join in.
  • ARHS Improv & Sketch Comedy Show (7:00 pm) @ Algonquin Regional High School, Black Box Theater, 79 Bartlett St, Northborough: GonkStage and Needs Improvment (the school’s improv troop) will hold the annual spring show. This year’s theme is “Gaslights, Camera, & Action”. Admission is $5 at the door or the donation of a shelf-stable item for the food pantries of Northborough and Southborough.

  • Better World Book Club (3:30 – 4:30 pm) @ Southborough Library Teen Room: This monthly book club run by the Southborough Library for middle schoolers requires pre-registration. For details, see related post.
  • Student Talent Show (7:00 pm) @ Trottier Middle School auditorium, 49 Parkerville Road: The annual show sponsored by Rotary features Southborough residents in grades 5 and older. $10 tickets can be pre-purchased at the Library through Thursday or at the door. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Southborough Safe Spaces – Makeup is Power (7:00 – 9:00 pm) @ St. Mark’s Episcopal Church Parish Hall: Event for grades 6-12 hosted by Southborough Safe Spaces for LBGTQ+ youth of all faiths and their allies.   • Yoga on the Trails (10:00 – 11:00 am) @ Sudbury Reservoir Trail: A free yoga session for adults. This free event is in support of Southborough’s Mental Health Awareness Month efforts. For details, see related post.
  • Finding Fungi Guided Mushroom Hike (1:00 – 2:00 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: Learn methods beginners can use to identify and group similar fungi together, plus tips and tricks for locating mushrooms in seemingly barren forests and fields.   • Growing Cucurbits Workshop (2:00 – 3:30 pm) @ Southborough Library: Blackstone Valley Veggie Gardens will hold this session to teach gardeners how to get the best squash yield possible from (zucchini, cucumbers, pumpkins, and everything in between.) The program is free to all, no registration required.
  • Meditative Art Workshop (2:00 – 3:30 pm) @ 21 Highland St: Free program for ages 14+. Explore using mixed art mediums to practice mindfulness. Pre-registration is required (and it may be full).   • Garden Talk & Tour (1:00 – 2:00 pm) @ Southborough Library lawn: The Open Space Preservation Commission will use the Pollination Preservation Garden on the Library’s grounds to describe native plants chosen for both ecological benefit and beauty and go over next steps, and volunteer opportunities.
