Last week, the Central Mass Athletic Directors’ Association posted the brackets for the spring tournaments. Five Algonquin teams made it into the Class A tourneys. One already fell out and two didn’t make the cut.
2nd seed Boys Tennis won all three of their Tennis games last week, including over 7th seed Leominster in the Friday Quarter Finals. They’ve improved in the MIAA Power Rankings to #19 for Division 1. Stay tuned on whether the team will face South or Nashoba in the CMADA Semi Finals this week.
4th seed Girls Tennis won all four of their games last week, including beating 5th seed Nashoba 4-1 on Friday. They’re now ranked #36 for Division 1.
Tomorrow, they’ll head to top seed Westborough for the CMADA Semi-Finals at 3:30 pm.
In Lacrosse, both the Boys and Girls teams earned the top seed and home field advantage for their CMADA tourneys. The Boys (ranked #15 for D1) will play 8th seed Wachusett in the Quarter Finals on Tuesday at 6:00 pm. The Girls (ranked #17 in D1) will play Bromfield on Wednesday at 4:00 pm.
Gonk Boys Volleyball lost their CMADA Quarter Finals to upper seed North Middlesex, 3-1. They are currently ranked #32 for MIAA D1.
Neither Baseball or Softball qualified to play in the competitive brackets. Softball extended its losing streak to 18 last week. Baseball beat Shepherd Hill but lost to Leominster. They kept their rank of #25 for D1.
ARHS Outdoor Track teams continued to make headlines. Both the Boys and Girls won the Mid-Wach League Championships. This weekend, they’ll compete at the Division 2 State Championships.

The co-op Girls Golf team out of Westborough tallied up three more wins. This is their last regular week of play before the CMass Championship on May 30th.
