Elyse M. Phillipo, 74, of Fayville, MA died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, May 28, 2023, after a short battle with gastric cancer.
Elyse was born in Marlborough, MA on August 28, 1948. She was the daughter of Alice (Bertonassi) Phillipo and Elmer Phillipo, both of Fayville, MA. She graduated from Algonquin Regional HS and the Insurance Institute of America. Elyse was a Claims Adjuster for Universal Underwriters for 25 years, then a Claim Administrator for Curtin, Murphy and O’Reilly for 10 years. She was an Ashland Lions member for 10 years and served on the Board of directors, was a key committee member for several club events throughout the years including Eyeglasses Collection Committee, Annual Golf tournament, and was part of the team for the Ashland Lions Meat Raffles and the Annual Christmas Tree Sales Fundraiser.
She was predeceased by her brother Carl Phillipo, her sister June Phillipo and her brother Ronald Phillipo. Elyse is survived by her two sisters, Ann Huff and her husband Kenneth Huff of Centerville and Bena Phillipo and her husband Peter Kahn of Southborough.
Elyse was a generous loving person who touched many lives with her acts of kindness and generosity. She equally loved all her nieces and nephews taking time to communicate with them individually on a regular basis. She spent the past three years being Mimi to her grandnephew Tristan Ferguson, which filled her life with joy and happiness. Her capacity for love knew no bounds.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2023, from 5:00-7:00PM at the Morris-Johnston Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Southborough, MA 01772. A Celebration of Life for Elyse will be held at a later date.
