Since my last sports update on Friday, three more Algonquin teams fell out of the MIAA state playoffs. That leaves four teams still vying for titles this week.
On Friday, three Gonk teams lost their Round of 32 games in the Division 1 tourneys. ARHS Boys Volleyball lost 3-0 to 2nd seed Lowell. Girls Tennis lost to #3 Lincoln-Sudbury 5-0. And Boys Tennis lost 3-2 to upper seed Arlington.
On Friday, ARHS Baseball won its Preliminary Round 6-1 over lower seed Acton-Boxborough:
The Titans take their first win of the Postseason after a hard fought battle against AB. Redfern was lights out, going 6 innings with only 2 hits and 14K’s!

This afternoon, the 28th seed team will challenge 5th seed Xaverian Brothers — Monday, June 5th at 4:00 pm.
The other three teams still in the mix were already scheduled to play this week. (They earned BYEs for the first rounds.)
As I previously posted, Lacrosse teams will enter the D1 Round of 32 this afternoon. The 12th seed Gonk Boys will host 21st seed Bridgewater-Raynham at 4:00 pm. The 17th seed Girls will travel to take on #16 Hingham at 5:00 pm.
ARHS Boys Rugby will enter the 7 team Division 2 tourney as the top seed. They’re scheduled to play #4 Catholic Memorial in the Semi Finals this Thursday, June 8th, 5:00 pm at Westborough High. (That’s the same team they just beat 38-27 in their last game of the regular season.)
In the Meet of Champions, Titans Outdoor Track’s Miles Lipka came in 4th place for the Boys 400 meter hurdles. On Instagram, the team touted that the Boys beat the school’s record set in 2014 for the 4×800 meter Relay:

According to the Telegram, the relay runners were Matthew Zhang, Joseph Lamburn, Aiden Ruiz and Christopher Kardos. On their website, the Boys team posted that overall, the team came in 13th place out of 65 schools. You can find their full results here. While the full results were also posted for the Girls, nothing ranked their performance as a team.
This week, both teams’ schedules list special District E competitions at Shephard Hill Regional. (Girls list a Heptathalon, the Boys a Decathalon, and both a Weight Pentathalon.)
