It may not feel like summer this week, but it’s almost upon us. Which means it’s time to stock up on your summer reading. That’s why Friends of the Southborough Library are holding our annual June book sale on Saturday. (The forecast is uncertain, but we’ll hold it inside if necessary.)
Plan to stop by the library on Saturday, June 10th, 10:00 am-3:00 pm. (If you’d like to lend a volunteering hand, scroll down for details.*)
You can pick up some paperbacks, hardcovers, or even CDs and DVDs. (If you have you have a Friends tote bag, bring it with you take advantage of the stuff-a-bag deal.)
If you have kids, be sure to bring them by to pick out one free book each!
In addition, volunteers are baking up some goodies for us to sell. And we will be selling a limited supply of boxes of the three most popular flavors from our Fudge Lady fundraiser. (Dark Chocolate, Sea Salted Caramel with Dark Chocolate, and Peanut Butter Chocolate.)
Proceeds from the funds raised are used by The Friends for items the library’s budget can’t cover.
That includes purchasing most of the Library’s free/discount museum and park passes for the community. The Friends also sponsor many programs for children, teens and adults, fund supplies for the seed exchange program, and occasionally pay for equipment, furniture, and other resources.
If you are looking to support the Friends’ efforts, here are some additional ways you can help us:
- Use our Paypal page to:
- donate directly to the Friends or
- Re-up your annual membership (or join us)
- Come out to our Annual Meeting on Wednesday, June 14th, 7:30 pm at the Library to learn more about how you can help!
[Full Disclosure: I should note for readers who aren’t aware – I’m the President of the Friends of the Southborough Library.]
*We welcome volunteers to help us set up (starting at 9:00 am) or pack-up (starting at 3:00 pm). If you are able to help with that or help out during sale hours by taking a 1-2 hour shift, please email djmtremblay@verizon.net.
