- Friends’ Summer Book Sale (10:00 am – 3:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: The Friends of the Southborough Library’s annual fundraiser. Buy used books, DVDs and CDs at a low cost. One free book per child. Includes a Bake Sale.
- Art on the Trails Installations (10:00 am – 5:00 pm) @ Beals Preserve: The Southborough Open Land Foundation invites the general public to walk the preserve trails and watch artists install their work for the 7th annual Art on the Trails exhibit. Stay tuned for details.
- Worcester Sheriff’s Senior Picnic (11:00 am – 1:00 pm) @ SAC Park, 438 Lake St, Shrewsbury: 60+ year old residents are invited to pickup a free BBQ boxed lunch, goodie bags, and giveaways from the Worcester County Sherriff’s office. Registration is required. For details, see dedicated post.
- Sit & Knit (2:00 – 4:00pm) @ Southborough Library: This week’s session coincides with “World Wide Knit in Public Day”. The Biweekly drop-in program for ages 18+ encourages knitters to work on their latest knitting or crochet projects in a relaxed social setting. All levels are welcome but no formal instruction will be given.
- Finding Fungi Guided Mushroom Hike (4:00 – 5:30 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: Learn methods beginners can use to identify and group similar fungi together, plus tips and tricks for locating mushrooms in seemingly barren forests and fields. Pre-registration (and fee) required. For details, click here.
- Troop 823 Pasta Dinner (5:00 – 7:00 pm) @ Trottier Middle School 49 Parkerville Road: The Borough’s girls BSA troop is putting on this pasta dinner as a fundraiser. For details, see dedicated post.

- Yoga on the Trails for Adults (9:00 – 10:00 am) @ Sudbury Reservoir Trail: A free yoga session hosted by the Trails Committee. This free event is in support of Southborough’s Mental Health Awareness Month efforts. For details, see dedicated post.
Monday, June 12, 2023
- Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Trottier Middle School’s outdoor track: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
- Knitting Club (1:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: Bi-monthly social knitting group. Beginners are welcome and supplies will be provided, though you can also bring your own and “any creation you are working on”. For planning purposes, the Senior Center is asking potential attendees to RSVP. For details, see related post.
- Bereavement Group (1:00 – 2: 00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: The Bereavement Group is a monthly support group is for ages 50 and older. To sign up to join the group, please call Leslie Chamberlin, R.N. at 508-229-4453.
- Youth Writing Club (3:30 – 4:30 pm) @ Southborough Library, Teen Room: Weekly Library program for youth ages 11-18. Participants are invited to come share ideas and practice writing skills in a supportive environment. No sign up necessary.

- Bridge (12:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: A weekly card group, welcoming new participants. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
- Growing Squash Workshop (2:00 – 3:30 pm) @ zoom: Southborough Library virtual program featuring a presentation by the Blackstone Valley Veggie Gardens will hold this session to teach gardeners how to get the best squash yield possible from (zucchini, cucumbers, pumpkins, and everything in between.) - Poetry Workshop (6:30 – 8:30 pm) @ Southborough Library, main level: Bring in five copies of original poetry to share. The group will provide supportive feedback. If you don’t have a poem, come anyway and share your insights. (Meets twice monthly.)
- Geeks Who Drink Trivia Night (8:00 – 10:00 pm) @ Owen O’Leary’s, 50 Turnpike Rd: Weekly Trivia game night with prizes. For details, see dedicated post.

- Elder Law Advice (10:00 – 10:45 am) @ phone or zoom: Southborough seniors can sign up for a free 15 minute session of individualized legal advice from an Elder Law attorney. For details, see the Senior Center’s newsletter, p. 10.
- Crafternoon: Decorate a Tote Bag (4:00 – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: Free craft program for ages 8+. Using a variety of materials, decorate a tote bag perfect for library visits or summer beach trips! Pre-registration is required and attendance limited. To register, click here.
- Food Truck Festival (3:30 pm – 7:00 pm) @ St. Mark’s Field: The last night in this spring’s series. Four dinner trucks and one ice cream truck will be parked on the downtown field. There is no admission fee, just the cost of food. Part of the series organized by the Southborough Rotary Club on four Wednesdays. For details, see dedicated post.
- Panel Discussion for LGBTQ+ Allies (6:30 pm) @ where: Southborough Youth and Family Services is sponsoring a panel presentation featuring LGBTQ+ supporting organizations. Friends, family, allies, and community members are invited to attend. Come listen to questions being asked of LGBTQ+ professionals and parents with an opportunity for you to ask your own.. - Preschool Farm Explorers (10:00 – 11:00 am) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: For ages 2 years 9 months to 5 years old, Adult supervision required (discount for younger siblings and siblings under 1 yr old can attend for free) Your little farm explorers will become fully immersed in what life is like here at Chestnut Hill. - Kids Jam (11:00 – 11:30 am) @ Southborough Library Lawn: Kids are invited to dance and sing along to a variety of traditional and popular children’s songs Best for newborns through preschool age. - Growing a Salad (2:00 – 3:30 pm) @ Southborough Library main stacks: Free presentation by the Blackstone Valley Veggie Gardens: This session – Is there anything more refreshing in the summer than a homegrown salad?
