  • Read to a Dog (11:00 – 11:45 am) @ Southborough Library: Program preferably for kids ages 5 and up with some reading ability. Each month, children can sign up to read a short book to a certified therapy dog. Register at the Children’s Room desk or by contacting kivers@southboroughma.com or 508-485-5031.
  • Growing a Salad (2:00 – 3:30 pm) @ Southborough Library main stacks: Free presentation by the Blackstone Valley Veggie Gardens: This session – learn the basics on lettuce, tomato, and cucumber growing. Open to all. No registration is required

  • Yoga for grieving mothers (4:00 -5:30 pm) @ Theracopia Therapeautic Wellness Center: 54 Central Street: Free yoga, deep meditation and Reiki healing offered to mothers who have lost a child and their families For details, see dedicated post.

  • Bridge (12:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: A weekly card group, welcoming new participants. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Virtual Cooking Lesson (12:00 – 1:30 pm) @ zoom: Learn to make Japanese Rice Bowls. Part of the Southborough Library’s free virtual cooking series. Pre-registration is required, and registered participants will receive a shopping list in advance to prepare for the class. For details, click here.

  • Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Southborough cemetery, 11 Cordaville Road: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
  • Summer Solstice Forest Bathing (6:30 – 8:30 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: Celebrate the longest day of the year with a mindful outdoor experience. Pre-registration (and fee) required. For details, click here.
  • Southborough Rotary Club (7:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, main floor: Regular meeting of the Rotary Club of Southborough. New and prospective members are always welcome. (Held on the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month.)

  • Kids Jam (11:00 – 11:30 am) @ Southborough Library Lawn: Kids are invited to dance and sing along to a variety of traditional and popular children’s songs Best for newborns through preschool age. No registration necessary. This event will be held on the library lawn. Sponsored by the Friends of the Southborough Library.

  • Southborough Safe Spaces – Family & Friends BBQ Party (6:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Hopkinton State Park: Event for LBGTQ+ youth of all faiths and their allies. Bring the whole family for a BBQ and Ice Cream Social! Registration is required. For details, see their Facebook post.

  • Pollination Preservation Garden Tour and Plant Sale (10:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Beals Preserve: Open Space Preservation Commission will give tours of the Pollination Preservation Garden and talk about the plants and the Citizen Science project. Plants beneficial for native pollinators will be for sale. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Native Plants Garden Tour (12:00 pm) @ Southborough Library lawn: Open Space Preservation Commission will give tours of their garden at the Library. The talk will include how to have a beautiful garden and preserve biodiversity, sustainable garden practices, using native plants for stormwater control, lawn alternatives, and drought resistant plants.   • Superfoods 101 (1:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, main floor stacks: Presenter Kim Larkin will explain about the powerful properties of superfoods, such as acai smoothies, goji berries, and cacao protein balls, and how best to incorporate them into your life. Followed by Q&A. Open to all.
  • Chestnut Hill by Moonlight (6:30 – 8:30 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: This guided hike’s theme is “Pollinators of the Night”. Celebrate “often-forgotten pollinators and learn about moth diversity at Chestnut Hill Farm.” Pre-registration (and fee) required. For details, click here.

  • Hike with Goats (9:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: Your reservation gets you and your group of family or friends an hour-long experience with a friendly goat on its own harness and leash. You will first learn how to walk with the goat, and then you’ll be accompanied by a farm staff member as you and your new goat friend make your way around the farm and its trails.
