Sports Clinics taught by ARHS coaches/players

Kids entering grades K-9 have options for Field Hockey, Softball, Baseball, and Basketball

I learned about more choices for sports clinics/camps this summer that are taught by Algonquin Regional coaches and/or players. The youth sports programs cover baseball, softball, basketball, and field hockey.

These sports clinics are available through Northborough Recreation.

Algonquin Field Hockey Clinic
kids entering grades K-9
Monday, August 14th – Wednesday the 16th (9:00 am – 12:00 pm)
Algonquin Regional High School – Fields

Algonquin Regional’s Field Hockey Coach is running this clinic, which is open to all playing abilities for both new and experienced players. The clinic will focus on the basic fundamental skill sets, tactical play and small sided games. $150. (Click here) [Editor’s Note: I’ve been told this program is a fundraiser for the team.]

Baseball/Softball Summer Clinic
kids entering grades 1-8
Monday, August 7th – Thursday the 10th (9:00 am – 12:00 pm)
Algonquin Regional High School – softball fields

Each clinic will cover the fundamentals of: Pitching, Fielding and Hitting. Kids will be grouped by age/ability, and build skills through game play and 1:1 instruction. Coached by ARHS Varsity Boys Coach, and the Varsity Softball Coach and Assistant Softball Coach. $120. (Click here)

Basketball Skills Summer Clinics (session 2 of 3)
kids entering grades 1-8
Monday, July 10th – Thursday the 13th and/or Monday, July 31st – Thursday, August 3rd (9:00 am – 12:00 pm)
Algonquin Regional High School gym

Program to improve young player’s fundamentals “from the novice athlete to the aspiring pro. . . We use basketball to help kids build character, promote good sportsmanship, and develop leadership skills.” Coached by ARHS Varsity Boys Coach. $120. (Click here)

Basketball Weekly Program
Girls entering grades 1-6 and Boys entering Grades 1-2
Wednesdays, July 12th – August 16th (times vary)
Melican Middle School – Outdoor basketball courts

Algonquin basketball players are among the coaching staff on this program. The class combines drills and skill building with half and full court games with friends. Registration split by gender and by Grades 1-2 (5:30-6:30 pm) and 3-6 (6:30 – 7:30 pm). $85. (Click here) [Editor’s Note: The boys program for grades 3-6 is already full.]
