It’s time to mark your calendars for the new school year.
As parents and students should know by now, school is back in session next week. But some schools have events that take place leading up to it. And it’s not long until holidays and half days begin to pop up.
This year, is the first time the NSBORO district is using Wellness Days. Plus, the administration added additional pages with school specific half days and special events.
To make it easier for Southborough families with kids in our public schools, especially readers with kids in multiple schools, I’ve put pulled and combined the key dates you may want to enter in your calendars for future planning.
This year, I also included Assabet Valley (AVRTHS) as a regional high school instead of just Algonquin.
Here are the save-the-dates worth noting:

For those of you with kids in ARHS, you can find additional dates for sports nights and concerts in the full calendar here.
*For those who missed the news, in the spring the school committees all agreed to adopt Wellness Days as a way to address some religious holidays that the school has traditionally not observed as a day off but some members of the school community observe. Although “no homework, tests, or quizzes can be assigned” on these days, sports will still hold practices and games. The committees decided to still observe Yom Kippur and Good Friday this year (Rosh Hashanah falls on a weekend). They will readdress whether to continue that practice next year (or make an other changes) in the spring.
Updated (8/29/23 8:44 am): Clarified that the September 25th & March 29th holidays are for the NSBORO schools and fixed the details of the fall Parent-Teacher conferences.
Thank you for including the Assabet calendar as well! Much appreciated.
