Every year, Southborough Youth & Family Services coordinates a Winter Wishes (formerly Holiday Giving) program to support residents in need as the season turns colder and winter holidays approach.
I’ll soon be sharing information on how the public can support this year’s drive. But first, the deadline is soon approaching for residents to apply for them/their family to benefit from the program.
The deadline to apply is Wednesday, October 25th.
A flyer promoting the opportunity indicates that eligibility requirements are based on the same income levels used for the Fuel Assistance program.
SYFS’ registration form explains about eligibility:
We strive to help every family who is in need and understand that financial circumstances can change–sometimes quickly. This is why eligibility is determined by income criteria AND financial hardship. Proof of eligibility may be required. If at any time we feel your application does not fit our program requirements, we may contact you to review your application. If you have concerns about your eligibility, please don’t hesitate to contact our office. Eligible families must reapply each year. Also note, we try hard to make gifting equitable and similar year to year. But because we receive donations from the community, and we are at the mercy of the generosity of others, gift values can vary from year to year.
