  • Goat Hangout and Ramble (9:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: (Formerly called “Hike with Goats”.) Your reservation gets you and your group of family or friends an hour-long experience with a friendly goat on its own harness and leash. For details, click here.
  • Fay Halloween partyLibrary Halloween Party at Fay (10:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Fay School: The private school is again hosting the Southborough Library’s annual Halloween party with costume parade. Kids are invited to come in costume for the free event – no registration required. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Scarecrow Selfie Saturdays (10:00 am – 2:00 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: Drop-in to take a selfie with our scarecrows. Costumes & accessories are welcome and encouraged. (No registration required.) For details, see related post.
  • Trunk or Treat rescheduleTrunk or Treat (2:00 – 4:00 pm) @ Woodward Parking Lot and Public Safety Building: Costume Parade and trick or treating. The Southborough Fire Association and Southborough Recreation combine the annual parade and costume party at the fire station with the Town’s Halloween fun for kids. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Spooky Full Hunter’s Moon Hike (7:00 – 8:00pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: A special evening hike under the Full Hunter’s Moon. Pre-registration (and fee) required. For details, see related post.
  • Safe Spaces Halloween Party flyerSouthborough Safe Spaces Halloween Party (7:00 – 9:00 pm) @ St Mark’s Church: Costume party for grades 6-12 hosted by Southborough Safe Spaces for LBGTQ+ youth of all faiths and their allies.   • Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Trottier Middle School’s outdoor track: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
  • Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Ages 2-5 are invited for stories and a craft based on a weekly theme. No registration required. For details, see related post.
  • Corrected Narcan flyerNarcan Training (3:00 – 3:30 pm) @ Southborough Library: The Greater Boroughs Partnership for Health is providing another session to train the public on how to use Narcan, plus the necessary supplies. Registration is required. For details, see dedicated post.

  • NSBORO School “Wellness Day”: School is in session for Northborough-Southborough public schools – but no homework, tests, or quizzes can be assigned. (As for Halloween celebrations in the K-8 schools, parents should consult messages from the individual schools. But the overall theme appears to be that students can attend in “fall colors” or non-disruptive Halloween costumes.)
  • Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Ages 2-5 are invited for stories and a craft based on a weekly theme. No registration required. For details, see related post.
  • Books with Bunnies (11:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: An interactive story time for preschoolers (with a parent/caregiver) in the bunny garden with the farm’s Flemish Giant Rabbits hopping about. Pre-registration (and fee) required. For details, see related post.
  • Bridge (12:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: A weekly card group, welcoming new participants. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • ARHS Costume contest flyerARHS Costume Contest: The Algonquin Student Council is hosting a Halloween costume contest for students. At each of the three lunches one winner for best costume will receive a free ticket to the school’s Winter Ball.
  • Geeks Who Drink Trivia Night (8:00 – 10:00 pm) @ Owen O’Leary’s, 50 Turnpike Rd: Weekly Trivia game night with prizes. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Trick or Treating: There isn’t an official start time in Southborough, but kids generally start ringing doorbells after dusk.

  • Therapy Dog flyerTherapy Dog (4:00 – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, Eaton Room: Destress and relax by spending some time with Glory, a pet partners certified therapy dog. For adults, teens, and kids.
  • Southborough Rotary Club (7:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, main floor: Regular meeting of the Rotary Club of Southborough. New and prospective members are always welcome. (Held on the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month.)
  • Fall Instrumental flyerARHS Fall Instrumental Concert (7:00 pm) @ Algonquin Regional High School auditorium: The high school’s annual concert features the Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, String Orchestra, Jazz II, and Jazz I. For details, see related post.

  • Preschool Farm Explorers (10:00 – 11:00 am) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: For ages 2 years 9 months to 5 years old, Adult supervision required. Pre-registration (and fee) required. (discount for younger siblings and free for siblings under 1.) Little farm explorers will become immersed in what life is like at Chestnut Hill. Each session has a different theme. (Offered weekly.)   • Baby/Toddler Storytime (11:00 – 11:45 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: A weekly program for ages 0-2 years with their parents/caregivers. Each session will include puppets and music. No registration required. For details, see related post.
  • Young Scientists flyerYoung Scientists (1:00 – 1:45 pm) @ Southborough Library: Pre-registration is required to participate in the free, hands-on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) program for 3-6 year olds. This is the first of 6 weekly sessions. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Tech Time (4:00 – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, Teen Room: Weekly drop-in session to get help from a librarian or teen volunteer. Learn about the Library’s apps and databases, get guidance on your devices, and have tech questions answered.
  • Virtual Book Club (7:30 pm) @ zoom: Southborough Library hosted book group for participants to chat about what they’re reading or listening to. Meet once a month to informally exchange ideas. To sign up, contact rdonovan@cwmars.org.
