Yesterday, the Southborough Police Department posted to Facebook that a Marlborough resident is being charged with the alleged burglary of a Southborough home this summer.
The post announces:
In August of this year, we advised the public about a B&E at a residence on Oak Hill Road in which jewelry was taken from the residence. After a month(s)-long investigation conducted by Det. Keith Nichols and involving multiple law enforcement agencies, [a Marlborough man], has been charged with B&E into a Building Daytime for Felony and Larceny from a Building. Mr. Findley was previously arrested by this department in 2019 after a string of daytime burglaries occurred in Southborough and surrounding towns.
Excellent work by Det. Nichols and we appreciate the cooperation/teamwork from the other investigating LE agencies!
I was a bit confused by the reference to having advised the public, since I hadn’t seen anything.
I was able to locate a line in the publicly posted police logs from August. Under the post described “Police Logs: 08/02/23- 08/10/23” one of the 9 comments listed the logs for Thursday, August 3rd. In it, the following item was listed:
23-11413 1621 BURGLARY, B & E PAST *Report Taken
Location/Address: [SOH 1373] OAK HILL RD
Searching for that text in the SPD’s Facebook posts for this year, I found some other B&Es reported through the police logs that weren’t also announced through special posts/press releases. (The dates and times refer to when officers took the reports, not when the burglaries occurred.):
- January 6th at 6:39 pm – Oak Hill Road
- May 27th at 6:27 am – Turnpike Road
- June 1st at 5:00 am – Turnpike Road
- July 24th at 2:51 pm – Cordaville Road
- October 20th at 11:18 am – Carriage Hill Circle
