Aging on Purpose – Nov 30

Are "you retired and excited about the new week?" Presentation seeks to help seniors make their "extra years really count".

Above: It appears that not all Southborough seniors/retirees have fully embraced living longer lives than past generations. An upcoming presentation looks to help change that. (image cropped from flyer)

A Southborough senior is seeking to help other seniors feel good about and make the most of their “extra years”.

A free presentation at the Library will focus on helping seniors “want to get out of bed each morning, eager to start the new day.”

The Aging on Purpose program flyer promotes:

Aging on Purpose flyerSo many seniors are living longer today than generations before them. We call
these extra years the “longevity dividend” and it’s an incredible gift. But how does one make the most of this gift?

In this 45 – 60 minute presentation, based on the latest psychology/gerontology research, seniors will learn how to make those extra years really count

The presentation is by Doug Peck, Chair of Southborough’s Council on Aging and also the Director of Community Partnerships at Seniors Helping Seniors of
Greater Boston & Metrowest.

The free event will be held on Thursday, November 30th, from 7:00 – 8:00 pm on the Library’s main floor. No registration is required to attend.

The presentation will cover:

  • How seniors are changing the world
  • How ageism affects how long you live
  • The single, most important factor in determining how long and how well you will live
  • How to “age on purpose”

The event is sponsored by Seniors Helping Seniors.
