Thanksgiving Break Closures: The public schools, Southborough Library, Senior Center, Town offices are closed through the weekend. The Transfer Station is closed today, but reopens on Saturday, November, 25, 2023.

  • Artisan Holiday Shopping Market (10:00 am – 4:00 pm) @ Southborough Community House, 28 Main Street: Shop from local artists and craftspeople and buy gifts for the holiday season. For details, see dedicated post.
  • DIY Rustic Wooden Box workshop (3:00 pm) @ Gulbankian Florist, 40 Mt Vickery Rd: There is a registration fee and attendance is limited. For details, see related post.

  • Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Trottier Middle School’s outdoor track: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
  • Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Ages 2-5 are invited for stories and a craft based on a weekly theme. No registration required. For details, see related post.
  • Knitting Club (1:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: Bi-monthly social knitting group. Beginners are welcome and supplies will be provided, though you can also bring your own and “any creation you are working on”. For details, see related post.
  • Narcan Training (3:00 – 3:30 pm) @ Southborough Library: The Greater Boroughs Partnership for Health is providing another session to train the public on how to use Narcan, plus the necessary supplies. Registration is required. To sign up, click here.

  • Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Ages 2-5 are invited for stories and a craft based on a weekly theme. No registration required. For details, see related post.
  • Bridge (12:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: A weekly card group, welcoming new participants. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Poetry Workshop (6:30 – 8:30 pm) @ Southborough Library, main level: Bring in five copies of original poetry to share. The group will provide supportive feedback. If you don’t have a poem, come anyway and share your insights. (Meets twice monthly.)
  • Geeks Who Drink Trivia Night (8:00 – 10:00 pm) @ Owen O’Leary’s, 50 Turnpike Rd: Weekly Trivia game night with prizes. For details, see dedicated post.

  • Mah Jongg (10:00 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: The weekly program would love new players to join. Feel free to stop by to watch or talk to one of the players to see if you would be interested. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Baby/Toddler Storytime (11:00 – 11:45 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: A weekly program for ages 0-2 years with their parents/caregivers. Each session will include puppets and music. No registration required. For details, see related post.
  • Blood Drive (12:00 – 6:30 pm) @ Southborough Library parking lot, 25 Main St: The Bloodmobile will be collecting blood. Pre-booked time slots are full, but they will take some walk-ins.. Each “successful” donor will receive a Target gift card as a thank you gift. For details, see event flyer.
  • Young Scientists (1:00 – 1:45 pm) @ Southborough Library: description. For details, see related post.
  • Tech Time (4:00 – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, Teen Room: Weekly drop-in session to get help from a librarian or teen volunteer. Learn about the Library’s apps and databases, get guidance on your devices, and have tech questions answered.
  • Ladies Night Out and Boxwood Trees (6:30 pm) @ Southborough Community House, 28 Main St: Join Gulbankian Florist’s DIY Boxwood Tree workshop. These are fun and easy to make, and extremely long lasting. There is a registration fee and attendance is limited. For details, see related post.
  • Aging on Purpose (7:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: A presentation, based on the latest research, for seniors to learn how to make their “extra years” really count so they’ll want to get out of bed each morning, eager to start the new day. For details, see dedicated post.

  • Dull Men’s Club (10:00 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: Casual social club for senior men. New members are always welcome to drop in. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Kids Jam (11:00 – 11:30 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Newborns through preschoolers are invited to dance and sing. No registration necessary. Sponsored by the Friends of the Southborough Library. For details, see related post.
  • Canasta (11:15 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: A weekly card group. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Creative Kids Craft Session (2:30 – 3:30 pm) @ Southborough Library, Eaton Room: Kids ages 3+ (with adult supervision) can drop into the Library to make a creative craft led by a high school volunteer. This month, artists will create artwork to express their emotions!
  • Southborough Safe Spaces Friendsgiving (5:00 – 7:00 pm) @ Edwards Church, Framingham: The program for LBGTQ+ youth of all faiths and their allies is joining a Framingham community event for their 2nd annual Pot-Luck Friendsgiving. For details, see their Facebook post.
  • Girl Scout Holiday Sing-along (6:30 – 7:30 pm) @ Community House Lawn: Event for all families in Southborough. Kick off lighting up the Community House for the holiday season with an old-fashioned holiday sing-along with some modern touches.
  • Animated Advent (7:00 pm) @ Pilgrim Church, Fellowship Hall, 15 Common Street: A four week fim series will use movies for all ages to highlight an important religious theme. This week’s movie is “Tangled” for the theme Hope. For details, see dedicated post.

  • Annual Kids Shop (9:00 am – 2:00 pm) @ St Anne’s Church Parish Hall, 20 Boston Road: Boy Scout Troop 92 provides a safe haven for kids to do their own holiday shopping without parents’ prying eyes. For details, see dedicated post.
  • (Wrong Date) Southborough Art & Gift Sale (10:00 am – 5:00 pm) @ 49 Lynbrook Road (L’Abri Fellowship): Local artisans and craftspeople will be selling holiday gifts. This event is free and open to the public. Includes jewelry, fine art, natural body care, textiles, and ceramics. (I accidentally listed this December 9th event on the wrong Saturday!)
  • Christmas Bazaar (10:00 am – 2:00 pm) @ St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 27 Main Street: Featuring the White Elephant and craft sales, a silent auction, basket raffle, a lunchtime Café, and more. All proceeds benefit the church’s Youth Group Annual Mission Trip and the Southborough Food Pantry’s Fuel Assistance Program.
  • Holiday Book Sale (10:00 am – 2:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: The Friends of the Southborough Library will be holding a special book sale upstairs with DVDs, CDs, and more. One free book per child.
  • Holiday Tree Party (10:30 am – 1:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: Kids are invited to drop-in to enjoy refreshments and make ornaments to hang on the library holiday tree. Sponsored by the Friends of the Southborough Library.
  • Santa Day (12:00 – 3:00 pm) @ Community House: Free event for the community. See Santa arrive by helicopter (or fire engine in case of inclement weather). Then join him and Southborough Kindergroup at the Community House for activities and refreshments before kids share their wishes with Santa while posing for a picture.   • Sit & Knit (2:00 – 4:00pm) @ Southborough Library: Biweekly program for ages 18+ to drop in and work on your latest knitting or crochet projects while you enjoy the company of fellow yarn crafters in a relaxed social setting. All levels are welcome but no formal instruction will be given.
  • WCC Holiday Show (7:30 pm) @ Gibbons Middle School, Westborough: The Westborough Community Chorus will perform its annual Holiday Show, with audience singalong and a visit from Santa. For details, see related post.
