The week in sports

Three Algonquin winter teams will be competing this weekend. I’m sharing news on that and a look back at results from the past two weeks.

Algonquin’s Thanksgiving Day game at Westborough was a bummer of a way for the team to finish on. The Titans lost 28-6. According to the Community Advocate, it was the Rangers first time taking home the trophy since 2018.

On a brighter note. . . I have results I forgot to share results from the Cross Country All State tournament on November 18th. The Titans sent 7 Boys and 8 Girls to run in the 5K.

The Boys came in 6th place out of 23 schools with three senior runners in the top 50 for their race: #26 Steve White, # 30 Adam Ruiz, and #36 Chris Kardos. The top finisher for the Girls was #51, senior Brigid Purcell, helping their team come in 14th place.

The winter season doesn’t officially start this week, but three Titans teams are playing in pre-season invitationals this weekend, Boys & Girls Swim teams and Boys Ice Hockey:
