This afternoon, the Southborough Fire Department and multiple neighboring towns responded to a fire reported at 60 Flagg Road.
According to Chief Steven Achilles, there were no injuries and the fire has been put out. I’m still waiting for details that the SFD will be posting soon. I’ll update when I know more.
Update (11/30/23 6:07 pm) – This evening, the SFD posted an update with photos:
Around 2:40 pm today the department responded to Flagg Road for heavy smoke in the house. Enroute the Fire Officer transmitted a First Alarm, bringing in units from Westborough, Ashland, Hopkinton, and Marlborough. Upon arrival Engine 22 and Ambulance 28 found a fire in the first floor living room. The fire was quickly knocked down, but firefighters remained on scene for some time managing hidden fires and removing smoke. The owner was at home when the fire broke out and called 911. The home sustained fire damage to the living room and smoke and heat damage throughout. The cause is under investigation. No injuries were reported and fortunately the occupants have family nearby to stay with.
I’m reaching out to the Town to see if the residents need support. If there is information to share, I’ll update this post again.
