  • Southborough Art & Gift Sale (10:00 am – 5:00 pm) @ 49 Lynbrook Road (L’Abri Fellowship): Local artisans and craftspeople will be selling holiday gifts. This event is free and open to the public. Pre-book a mini-photo shoot. For details and vendor list, see dedicated post.

  • Messiah Community Concert (3:30 pm) @ Pilgrim Congregational Church, 15 Common St: The 50th annual concert performing selections from Handel’s Messiah. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Lessons and Carols (5:00 pm) @ Belmont Chapel, St. Mark’s School: The public is invited to attend the annual Service of Nine Lessons and Carols for Christmas. For details, see dedicated post

  • Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Trottier Middle School’s outdoor track: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
  • Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Ages 2-5 are invited for stories and a craft based on a weekly theme. No registration required. For details, see related post.
  • Knitting Club (1:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: Bi-monthly social knitting group. Beginners are welcome and supplies will be provided, though you can also bring your own and “any creation you are working on”. For details, see related post.

  • Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Ages 2-5 are invited for stories and a craft based on a weekly theme. No registration required. For details, see related post.
  • Reading Roundtable (11:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: A new monthly Book Club for adult book lovers to delve into literary analysis. For details, see related post.
  • Bridge (12:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: A weekly card group, welcoming new participants. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Second & Third Grade Book Group (4:00 – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, Eaton Room: Monthly Book Club with discussion and activities. For details, see related post.
  • Select Board Office Hours (6:00 – 7:00 pm) @ Town House Hearing Room, 17 Common St: Residents are invited to drop in to informally speak with two Board members about any questions, concerns or interests. This session will be hosted by members Andrew Dennington and Marguerite Landry.
  • Poetry Workshop (6:30 – 8:30 pm) @ Southborough Library, main level: Bring in five copies of original poetry to share. The group will provide supportive feedback. If you don’t have a poem, come anyway and share your insights. (Meets twice monthly.)

  • Elder Law Advice (10:00 – 10:45 am) @ phone or zoom: Southborough seniors can sign up for a free 15 minute session of individualized legal advice from an Elder Law attorney. For details, see the Senior Center’s newsletter, p. 9.
  • Manga & Anime Club (4:30 – 5:30 pm) @ Southborough Library, Eaton Meeting Room: Monthly discussion club for fans ages 12+. For details, see related post.
  • Read to a Dog (6:30 – 7:30 pm) @ Southborough Library, Children’s Room: Children preferably ages 5 and up with some reading ability will read to Perla, a certified therapy dog. Each child participating will have a chance to read a short book to Perla. Please register in the Children’s Room (or you can email kivers@southboroughma.com /call 508-485-5031).
  • Blue Christmas Service (6:30 – 7:15 pm) @ Pilgrim Church, 15 Common St: Pilgrim Church’s “Blue Christmas” service for people who need solace during the Christmas season..
  • Southborough Rotary Club (7:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, main floor: Regular meeting of the Rotary Club of Southborough. New and prospective members are always welcome. (Held on the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month.)

  • Sit & Knit (2:00 – 4:00pm) @ Southborough Library: Biweekly program for ages 18+ to drop in and work on your latest knitting or crochet projects while you enjoy the company of fellow yarn crafters in a relaxed social setting. All levels are welcome but no formal instruction will be given.
